As we head into our final two bulletins of the year, I’ve been reflecting on everything we’ve achieved together. It’s been another remarkable year, full of accomplishments, big and small, far too many to list, but each one meaningful.
What stands out most is how we’ve continued to come together as a team, supporting one another and having plenty of fun along the way.
I’m excited to see Ray step into the lead, and confident the team will continue delivering outstanding work. Well done everyone.
Yours in Rotary

Men’s Health week runs from 15 – 21 June and is an opportunity to highlight the importance of men’s health, and to promote and support the health and wellbeing of men and boys in our community.
Men’s Health Week not only focuses on physical, but also mental health and emotional wellbeing. We know that social connections and peer support are a key protective factor to good mental health, and that forming strong and supportive friendships can also reduce isolation.
The free Men’s Mental Health Hub – Snack & Chat program run by the Rotary Club of Boronia is a weekly support program for men aged 18 and over. It pro
vides a safe and inclusive space for peer-led support, community connections, and short-term counselling.
Program facilitator Inga says “the program has grown into a safe and welcoming community space where men are beginning to feel comfortable connecting, talking more openly, and supporting one another without judgement. One of the biggest things we have noticed is the positive impact that connection and community can have on men’s wellbeing”.
Co-facilitator Felicia has also observed that “when men are provided with a safe, non-judgemental environment, they are far more willing to open up about their struggles and seek support. The sense of trust and community developing within the Hub has been incredibly meaningful to witness”.
A regular participant in the program said ‘the Men’s Hub program is making a genuine difference - I have it booked out in my calendar every week, and week on week we see more and more new faces”.
The group meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1-3pm at the Boronia Scout Hall, 44 Chandler Road, Boronia. Snacks, tea, and coffee provided. No bookings required. Just walk in.
The Men’s Mental Health Hub is supported through Council’s Community Development Fund program.
Help and support is available if you or someone you know is experiencing poor mental health.
At our meeting last week, we were pleased to welcome Lillie, who presented on the wonderful work of Feed One Feed All.
Feed One Feed All is a team of passionate volunteers working tirelessly to provide home-cooked, nourishing meals to people in need across our community. Their support reaches a wide range of people, including elderly residents who are unwell, those transitioning home from hospital, people experiencing homelessness, individuals struggling with mental health issues, those escaping family violence, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people facing difficult circumstances.
In addition to supporting vulnerable members of the community, Feed One Feed All is also helping to address food wastage and promote sustainability. Through partnerships with organisations such as Foodbank and Outer-East Foodshare, they source produce that may otherwise be thrown away and turn it into nutritious meals made with care.
It was inspiring to hear about the dedication of their volunteers and the meaningful difference they are making, one meal at a time.
Some correspondence from Lillie:
Hi Ron,
It was lovely meeting you after all the email exchanges, and indeed, such an honour to present at the Rotary Club of Boronia. Thank you for having us. It was a wonderful night, meeting so many lovely Rotarians in such a warm and friendly environment.
Thank you for asking. My first cooking show will be aired on Channel 7 at 10 am on Sunday, 28th June.
You can find more information on my website, Facebook, or on thefoodaffectionisttv (the producer's page). Looking forward to seeing you all on Channel 7. Thank you for your support.
A Rotary Club Changeover is a special event where the Club formally marks the end of one Rotary year and the beginning of the next.
During the Changeover, the outgoing President reflects on the year that has been, celebrates the Club’s achievements, and thanks the Board, members and supporters for their contributions.
The incoming President is then officially welcomed into the role, along with the new Board and office bearers. It is also a chance to acknowledge members, present awards or special recognitions, and share plans or goals for the year ahead.
In simple terms, a Changeover is both a celebration and a handover, recognising the work of the past year while looking forward to the next chapter for the Club.
This is your chance to sail on a real tall ship, earn Duke of Edinburgh Award credits (Bronze, Silver or Gold), and have the adventure of a lifetime — all during the school holidays!
Spots are limited and filling fast. Don't let someone else take yours!
