AUGUST - MEMBERSHIP AND NEW CLUB DEVELOPMENT MONTH
Monique's Message
We are thrilled to announce that our club has received a Citation from Rotary International for the 2023-24 year! We are one of only 13 clubs in District 9810 to be honored with this award. This recognition reflects our club's unwavering commitment to achieving our goals, which ultimately strengthens Rotary and shapes our future. A big thank you to Greg for his exceptional leadership during this period. Congratulations to everyone for this remarkable achievement! This will be presented to the Club at the next meeting.
While we celebrate our successes, we also acknowledge that attendance recently has quite low, as many members are currently away traveling. We wish them safe travels and look forward to hearing their adventures when they return.
I also want to extend our thoughts and support to Doug, who is undergoing tests for his pain. Let's keep him in our minds during this time.
At our last meeting we held our Working Groups, and it was wonderful to visit each group and hear about the exciting plans and activities currently underway. There is a lot happening in the pipeline, and it's fantastic to see everyone's hard work and dedication. Keep up the great work, everyone!
The Kids Youth Skill Shed was fitted out last weekend. A huge thanks to everyone involved, especially Ray Siegersma who is leading the project. We couldn’t have achieved this without the generous support of Sponsors, The Bendigo Bank Boronia, Bunnings, Fleet Plant Hire Solutions, Boronia Heights Primary School, Harvey Norman, Knox Woodworking Club, Rotary District 9815 and The Rotary Club of Boronia. It is exciting to see the project come to life.

Please use Club Runner to manage your attendance. If you are unable to attend and/or wish to bring additional guests for a special event or partners night please do so by 5pm Monday night. We need to give Knox Club numbers and pay for meals even if you do not attend.

HOMELESSNESS
Mornington Rotary is proud to have supported the production and premiere of “The Ranch”, a 30-minute documentary and insight into the extent and challenges of homelessness on the Mornington Peninsula.
The Ranch premiered at Rosebud Cinemas, to two full theatres of local residents and people working and living in this space. The Mornington Peninsula is not viewed as having this challenge, but 3700 people face it every night.
Produced by Peninsula Films for the Mornington Community Support Centre, with further support from Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, the purpose of the film is to raise awareness across the entire community and invoke action at all levels of government that have talked around this issue for years.
Mornington Rotary has prioritised support of organisations tackling homelessness for the last five years. It supported the establishment of the Ranch and has since made significant contributions to both Mornington Community Support Centre, and Fusion at Mt Martha.
If members are unable to attend Tuesday night's meeting, please decline on ClubRunner by 5pm the Monday before. This is important for Knox Club staff and catering purposes.
