Dear Fellow Rotarians A great day was held at the Doogans place in Silvan, beautiful weather, beautiful people, wonderful food, great conversation what else could I say. It was a delight to see Beverley and George back and Bev looking so well, and to see Bob Davis and his wife, in fact it was a fantastic day, so I am sure that I am speaking for everybody a big thank you to “The Doogans”. Please look at Forest Echo as it will provide updating events. Don’t forget to try and help out with the Carols by Candlelight and we are in the middle of arranging the Raffle tickets for the Trivia night, so as soon as they are printed we need everybody to sell as many tickets possible, I would like to see a minimum of 2,500 sold, so we need to work hard. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and I will look forward to seeing each and everyone of you bright and breezy in the New Year. Your Presidente Maz |
President Marilyn’s Report The BBQ at Rolling Hills was a great success and nearly everything sold out very quickly. Many thanks to James for setting up, Wayne Bernie and The Doogan’s for all their assistance. The new BBQ that James bought was a huge improvement on the previous ones. As for me I did what I did best, organise arrange and arrive on clean up time!!! It is believed that we made about $600 net however our treasurer is to confirm this. A reminder that we are not having a meeting this week. Raffle Tickets for the Trivia night – I am just waiting for confirmation that we have a car for the weekend for the second prize and as soon as this is to hand then a draft of the tickets will be set up for approval and then 2000 tickets printed and then it will be up to the members to sell as many as possible prior to the Trivia Night. Christmas Party – don’t forget it is this Saturday at 1 p.m. bring a plate to share and alcohol, however please let Barb know exactly what you are bringing so that we don’t get two or three of everything. Remember there is a pool onsite so if you are inclined for a swim then appropriate swim wear would be in order. Partners friends, etc all welcome, however for catering purposes just let Barb or Pete know how many are coming as Pete has kindly offered to put on a spit. It should be a good day and I look forward to socialising with you all. Your 2013/2014 President! |

Hello my fellow Rotarians at Belgrave! I trust that you all did not miss me too much last week, however I am sure that Peter could handle you all! As you know I am currently in Airlie Beach Queensland (on the whitsundays) and the weather is absolutely glorious about 25 degrees, no wind, the sea is spectacular. I have sighted eagles and I believe there are dolphins in the sea, all this whilst you are all freezing in Melbourne! Well I will be home at the end of this week. I hope you all enjoy your night at the 1812 Theatre this week, sorry I missed it - thank you Trevor for organising this. I am sure that Erin and her team are well underway with Car show, however I will catch up on this when I am back. Belinda tells me her Rock night has a hiccup, so will have to put off until early next year - Belinda will update us all. Oh and thank you to Gus (Mr Brilliance) I am only able to use my laptop because Gus showed me how to use my portable wi fi on my phone and wow it is fantastic - thank you. See you all next week, President Marilyn Sabec |
Hi Belgrave Rotarians! This week Gus attended the Cluster meeting at Wandin on behalf of the Club and President. Please read his report. We have the District Governor, David Alexander will be attending our Club on the 4th September 2013, so please club members attend on this night to show your support and invite your partners. Paul Broecker ("Broecker") from the Narre Warren School will be our guest speaker this week, talking about his role in raising funds for underpriviledged children in Narre Warren to take to Africa and asking for the clubs assistance in a Trivia night, which Peter Vulling our Guru has agreed to host. Rotary International will soon be sending us a draft of the new constitution and I hope it can be passed at the AGM in November 2013. 1812 "Sleuth" is coming up and if you have not got your tickets then check with Don and Trevor. I think there is a couple of spare tickets available. There will be no meeting at Burrinja on this night. Yours in Rotary Marilyn Sabec President Belgrave Rotary
