New York Marathon 2011 - Running 26.2 miles to save lives!
Posted by Daniele Schiuma
Dear Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
According to my commitment to Rotary's motto "Service above Self" on November 6, 2011 I participated at the NY Marathon 2011 in order to raise funds for supporting several humanitarian projects such as
(a) Rotary's PolioPlus initiative to eradicate poliomyelitis across the world
as well as specific programs of our partner club Rotary Club New York in view of
(b) serving pediatric cancer patients,
(c) providing open heart surgery to children from countries where such care is unavailable, and
(d) supporting humanitarian programs in New York City and beyond through the NY Rotary Foundation.

Not only I crossed the finish line in Central Park after 3h55m31s, but also was able to fundraise over 5000 US$ for the above projects.
Thank you very much to all my supporters!
