First visitors of the year
In the first month of 2017, President Eilfort welcomed a whole bunch of guests – Rotarian and non-Rotarian. Four banners were exchanged.
On January 7th Peter Schäfer visited from RC Kyalami in Johannesburg. The club counts 60 members and is very active in projects for orphanages between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Peter is relocating to Germany after 32 years in South Africa.
On the same day, Narayanaswamy Dwai honoured us with a visit from RC Coimbatore West in district 3201, India. Coimbatore is about 300 km away from Bangalore. The club was founded 1966 and counts 65 members, all of them Paul Harris Fellows. The club is engaged in projects for semi-automatic artificial limbs.
On January 16th Zeef Matar from RC Haifa presented his club. RC Haifa is a club with lots of tradition, 83 years old, and was chartered by the Egyptian club of Port Said. They have their own club home, which is convenient for their numerous social and club activities.
Zeef is also a longtime member of the IYFR, the oldest fellowship in Rotary with today over 3000 members.
On January 30th we had a visitor from a little closer to home: Cornelia Henkel from RC Castelfranco di Sotto exchanged banners with President Thomas Eilfort. She welcomed all members to visit her Club in the famous Tuscan truffle region of San Miniato.
