Last Friday our Rotary Club completed another successful art auction. Over 250 guests were present to bid for wonderful works of art, this year some spectacular pieces were up for grabs.
A big thank you to all who were involved in making this a resounding success.
The date of the 2016 event has already been fixed: 11. November 2016 - please save the date!
The auctioneer was in full swing:
Our Rotaracters (Rotaract Club Munich International) played various roles to support the event.
Handling and presenting the works of art:
Selling delicious hand-made chocolates and cakes:
Making sure that we all had enough to eat and drink (the wine was sponsored by Castell )
Our current Orlandus Lassus student gave a stirring rendition on the violin.
The initiator and organisor of the event, Prof Michael Vogel, explains to the raptured audience how the works of art were collected and the bidding process.
Guests discussed the merits of the art on display.
Artists mingled with the guests.
Whilst in the background the sold works were packed and made ready for collection.
The auctioneer and the Rotaract team line up for a quick picture (a work of art in itself) with Prsident Burkhard Gessner
All in all a wonderful evening!
The fantastic pictures were taken by our member Hans Geesmann.
