The Rotary Art Auction - a good action with and for young people
Promote young musicians and help seriously ill children. Under this heading, RC Munich International conducted its art auction. In addition to its international commitment, RC München International supports two major projects right on its doorstep. On the one hand, he founded the Orlandus Lassus Foundation for the promotion of highly gifted, needy music students and the multi-club initiative Rotary4Hauner, which bundles a sustainable contribution from Rotary as part of the construction of the new Hauner Children's Hospital in Munich. The auction attracted over 200 guests and art lovers, including Rotarians from 20 clubs. A report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung was highly appreciated.
Kristian Jarmuschek (RC Berlin Luftbrücke) auctioned 55 works of various styles and artists. Introduced by the auctioneer entertaining and expert, the works came quickly under the hammer. He kept his audience busy with speed, knowledge and eloquence. The effect? A proud revenue that will benefit the two projects.
However, Dieter Wegener, President of RC München International, and Michael Vogel, initiator of the auction, were not only happy about the outstanding result of the auction. To get this event going, it took a lot of hands. Here was the whole club demanded and has pulled along vigorously, together in the front line with the members of Rotaract München International. For both an example of vital club life and active partnership between Rotary and Rotaract. The beneficiaries will be the young music students and the seriously ill little patients of the Hauner Children's Hospital. (orlanduslassus.de, rotary4hauner.de)
