Cornelia Jesinghaus will talk to us about about Jean-Frédéric Oberlin (1740-1826), an Alsation pastor and philanthropist called the True prosecutor of Social Christianity in France. Oberlin improved road and agricultural systems. He founded an itinerant library as well as infant schools and established an ordinary school at each of the five villages in his parish, providing an exellent example of the Rotarian motto Service above Self.
