"Menopause and hormonal replacement therapy: why, what and how long?"

Christian is a specialist in Gynecology, Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine, also Fellow of Clinical Reproductive Immunology. - He was appointed university professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital in Munich in 1998, where he headed the Hormone and Fertility Center until March 2024.

Prior to his appointment in Munich, he worked at renowned clinics and institutes in Germany and abroad, including the Center for Reproduction and Transplantation Immunology in Indianapolis, USA, the Center for Assisted Reproduction at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, the Medical School of Aberdeen, UK, and the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology at Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

In recognition of his extensive and intensive clinical and scientific activities in the field of reproductive immunology (this medical specialty deals with the role of the immune and coagulation systems in the development and course of human pregnancy), Professor Thaler was awarded the title of “Fellow of Clinical Reproductive Immunology” by the American Society of Reproductive Immunology in 2021 (FCRI) in 2021.

Christian is the author and co-author of numerous books and book chapters, as well as a large number of scientific publications.
