Next week the 25th we have the promised social night – Christmas Dinner. Eileen has sent you all the details and we really would like to see everyone including partners come along. It’s a 2 course dinner at the Mornington Golf Club. But you need to RSVP to Eileen by Thursday morning.
Eileen is in contact with the Mornington Hotel about when we might be able to resume there. Hopefully we will be back there for December.
Some important member welfare updates.
Ted Moore, Ted’s immediate plan is to travel to Brisbane, via Sydney, with his daughter, Lucy.
Rod Birt Rod has left Nicholas Lynch.
Betty Corke, Dennis is hoping Betty will be discharged to their home in Melbourne by the weekend, and they are likely to be there for a while.
Cluster Presidents Meeting. On Sunday morning I attended the Cluster Clubs’ Presidents’ Meeting. It is always good to hear what other clubs are doing. Some have already resumed face to face meetings, some are continuing with Zoom, on alternate weeks. Some have attracted new members and some have done successful fund raising on line. All are starting to get back to their normal projects and activities.
District Annual General Meeting Following that meeting I attended the District 9820 AGM. Over 50 others attended, via Zoom, and by using Video for the past District Governors Report, and on line polling it was very efficient and effective. There is nothing else significant to report, except to Welcome Bill Degnan as next year’s District Governor.
