This week’s meeting - Changeover Night – I look forward to seeing everyone at the Golf Club. Well done to Brian for all his pivoting, pursuing, and perfecting the plan for the night !
Club Runner As many of you know we use Club Runner for much of our admin, including the Bulletin, website, membership records, emails etc. I am going to run an intro / overview session on how this all works, for any interested members, at my place at 2pm Monday the 28th June. Please let me know if you are interested. We have 6 so far.
Bunnings BBQ’s We have confirmed Sunday July 25 as our first BBQ date. Put it in your diary now. There will be two further ones, on Saturday August 7 and Saturday September 11. David will be pleased to hear of your availability.
Australian Rotary Health a couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone had copies of two books, written on the history of Australian Rotary Health. In the absence of any response, I ordered them from ARH and have copies now, if anyone else would like to borrow and read them. Interesting that Ian Scott’s proposal to the Club to undertake fundraising for Cot Death Syndrome and medical research for $2m was actually put to the Club forty years ago this week! The immediate Club contribution was $15k – back in 1981. Ian’s proposal to the Club is printed in full in the first book.
Mornington Community House Program Several members were interested in seeing the program of activities at Mornington Community House when it was available. Well it has just been released and you can read it here https://morningtoncommunityhouse.com.au/activities/
My last Presidents Report
The Changeover night will provide plenty of opportunity to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve the club over the last two years, and also thank everyone who has provided support. Thank you.
For those who are interested, immediately after the Changeover I am heading to Cairns via Lightning Ridge, Bourke and Canarvon Gorge, for a few nights. Lyn is at a conference in Cairns for the last week of July, so am meeting her there. I am then heading to the Mt.Isa Rodeo, before going back to Cairns to do a condensed (without the side excursions) version of the bike ride to Cape Yorke which I was to do in June. Lyn is then meeting me in Cairns for the leisurely trip home. All subject to COVID limitations!
Regards and thanks again.
Ross
