Art Show Special Bulletin The Mornington Art Show has been everything we would hope. The presentation of the Peninsula Community Theatre is as good as Art Shows get. Opening night saw more cars in the car park than we have seen before, and we estimate 450 attendees. Many artists and VIPs commented that it was the best one yet. Pleasingly proceeds from the Silent Auction were in excess of $8000, and all go to Bushfire Relief. Art Sales are going well, and visitor numbers are up on last year. It’s open until Sunday at 5pm with the art pick up on Monday Morning. Bushfire Relief With the $10,000 the Club has already committed to the District Disaster Fund / East Gippsland Clubs Bushfire Fund, and the Art Show Silent Auction, we have committed over $18,000 to Bushfire Relief. We have not yet resolved as to which Bushfire cause the $8000 will go. The District / East Gippsland Clubs have communicated that the funds they have received from clubs is being allocated to buying fencing, fodder and hay as requested by local residents and then to local store cash/gift vouchers for those impacted. more details on their facebook page..
