At our Club Meeting last Wednesday fortnight we heard form from our Club's Art Show Chair, Richard Vautier. Richard delivered his much anticipated 2023 Mornington Art Show Report. As usual Richard's Report was extremely thorough, covering all aspects of this major Peninsula Event, from the months of lead up work, to the Gala Opening Night, the Show itself and the all the many tasks involved in the post Art Show pack up etc. Reading thru the report one item that was very pleasing to read was the appreciation pertaining to the vital task of managing the Art Show, as per the extract from the Report :
I would like to single out and thank both Meredith Horton and Jo Davie. One of their prime roles is to interface with the artists and Gallery 247 and this was achieved admirably. The changeover from Marie Renowden and Barbara Parkinson went very smoothly. Both Maree and Barb (especially Barb) spent important time with the preparations of the Show and the passing of their knowledge was a major factor in the successful changeover. Thank you very much Maree and Barb. As you all know this role is fundamental to the smooth running of the Art Show and I was very pleased that the handover process went so well.
Richards closing remarks summed up the feeling that we are afforded by our Club Members, local organisations that all provide invaluable assistance year after year for Mornington The Art Show:
It was also pleasing to be able welcome back our volunteer support from The Bays and the Men’s Shed. Their support this year was excellent In closing I would like to thank you all for your help in putting this Art Show together. I would also like to thank the Art Show Committee and all the Club Members who have given me great support as the Chair of the Art Show. I hope the next Art Show will continue to improve and prosper.
Club Social Night Out -
On Wednesday, last week, our Club held one its Social Night's out, and thanks to a fantastic effort by our Social Director, Eileen Prudden with her venue selection of Wilsons Wine Cellar, we were all presented in what you would say was a sumptuous feast. Tapas today is without question the most international element of Spanish cuisine, having become an exclusive culinary category, and we were certainly surprised with the quality, the range and diversity of the menu selections. There is something incredibly satisfying about enjoying a bite of something delicious alongside a very fine selection of quality wine. Well done Eileen, once again your venue and menu selection resulted in another great Club Social outings more to come we all anticipate !!

Club Meeting - Wed 05th April 23
Club Assembly
Of the many and varied methods in which Rotary present there Club Meetings, The Club Assembly Meeting is very significant calendar item. This forum allows the Board and Committee Chairs to present to the members a number of important items for ongoing and future Club Projects, etc. From a request (from outside the Club) or be it an ongoing Project or an investigation of a new project by each one of our Committee's, we see the items progress to The Board, for deliberation, which then results in the presentation of these important items to members, for all to see discuss and deliberate on at a Club Assembly. Club Assembly Meetings are to say the "nuts and bolts" of the Club, and attendance by as many members as possible involved, all aim towards a healthy Club whereby have direct involvement in the visions and pathways ahead with major items of Clubs Business.
At this weeks Club Assembly there will be a number of " Big Ticket Items" to be
presented so please ensure, if at all possible, you are able to come along and be involved in.

Presidents Report - 02nd April 2023
Club Business
To commence this edition of my report, I would just like to share a number of “going’s on“ in relation to Club Management that most members may be not be aware of pertaining to the involvement of our President Elect,Pam Hall and our Club SecretaryElect, Jo Davie. Both ladies have certainly been heavily involved in the lead up training courses that aims to provide underpinning knowledge to aid them in their new Club Executive roles for the 2023/2024 Rotary Year. Within the last four to five weeks, we as a Board have had quite a few major projects to investigate, deliberate on and generally discuss for presentation, to all members at our upcoming Club Assembly this week on Wed 5th April 23.Both Pam and Jo have been extremely proactive in all these items of important upcoming projects, such as the very soon to be happening of The Moondah Project, financial proposals for both our local Mornington Community Support Centre, possible asset and financial support for the The Bays Hospital, just to mention a few, with more to come. During my absences (over the past weeks) Pam has certainly stepped up without a hint of apprehension and as she has displayed that at present, the lead up to change-over some 10 weeks away and as our Club President for 2023/2024 Rotary Year that the leadership of Mornington Rotary is indeed in very good and professional hands. Well done ladies.
Over the past six months or so, our Club has seen a number of long-time standing Members leave, via natural attrition and also some leave via business and personal issues, and the other side of the fence we have seen new Members join our Club. In particular it was fantastic to induct Chris Reynolds, some three weeks ago into our Club and by now all current Active Members of our Club should have received the notice, via e-mail sent out by our Club Secretary on the 24th March, pertaining to the Membership Application advice for Julia Bickers. Julia has been a regular face at our Club Meetings over the past six weeks, and in the very near future it will once again be a significant evening to induct a new member into The Mornington Rotary Club.
A big thanks’ goes out for those Members who were and are still able to help out at our Club’s Weekly Meetings at the Welcome Desk to assist with the attendance register and also the meal payments etc, well done
Since our latest Mornington Art Show, back in January and even before this I have received and continue to receive a number of inquiries from Rotary Clubs within our district and also from afar seeking our advice and contacts in relation to the platforms we utilise to undertake our Art Show. So, from this I can only conclude that a number of other Rotary and also “other” Community based organisation’s see The Mornington Art Show as being managed, at all levels as a very highly professional and respected event. Well done to Richard, our valuable sponsors, all our Club Members and volunteer helper’s from other Community Organisation’s within our local area, well done,
