From the Editor

Good morning to my fellow Mornington Rotarians hope all is well and for those who ventured out I hope you had a very pleasant Queen's Birthday Long Weekend. The weather was on our side and as for myself and Jennifer we spent quality time with our family and Grandchildren at Metung, and from my observations on my morning walk into the village on Saturday so did the rest of Melbourne !!!!.

Guest Speaker

Our Guest Speaker at last weeks online ZOOM Club Meeting was Ms Vivienne Armstrong, who is the Community Officer from the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38inc. Vivienne has been extremely proactive within the Rotary Arm of Australian Rotary Health for some three years now and will in the very near future (as off this week) retire from this role.  Her presentation to our club, last week was a very fitting farewell from her ARH duties as she was delighted to undertake her final presentation at the Club where ARH all began way back in 1981. Vivienne was extremely compliment in her admiration, as we all should be, of the history of  ARH and specifically the vision of the Late Mr Ian Scott. It was also great that Vivienne invited one of the stalwarts of our club, Geoff Gilsenan, to provide us with a brief overview of the details of the initial concept and planning details of how ARH came to fruition. Geoff spoke of the many, many hours of travel throughout our Rotary District, and beyond raising support for the Project and the tireless work done by those within the initial committee. One of the vast array of financial benefits that ARH provides is its Scholarship Scheme's and it was with great pleasure that Vivienne had the honour to announce that our Club will be sponsoring Ms Molly King who currently studying at the Monash University and will be undertaking the Australian Indeginous Health Scholarship. Our Club President,  Ross, eluded to the subject of endeavouring to invite Molly to our Club to be a future Guest Speaker.  Our Club, and those members many years ago who instigated the extremely valuable and life changing ARH can be justifiably proud of its achievements. Our Club would like to extend a very big thank you to Vivienne for her presentation and more importantly all the years of work and valuable contributions she has made to ARH

President's Update
President’s Report

Thank you to those Rotarians who provided positive feedback on last week’s meeting, with Guest Speaker Vivienne Armstrong, our District 9820 Chair for Australian Rotary Health. It seems the long-term members enjoyed the update and newer members appreciated the background. It was great to have Geoff Gilsenan in the meeting who was instrumental in the formation of ARH, as acknowledged by Vivienne.
Vivienne announced the appointment of our Indigenous Scholarship holder, Molly King, which was also announced on Facebook and Instagram. She also reminded us of the opportunity to sponsor a PHD student, as Ian pointed out we have done in the past, and of the option for Bequests. She thanked us for our recent financial support of Lift the Lid.

Indigenous Scholarship Holder – Molly King
Details about Molly, which I think demonstrate a very impressive person, appear at

I will be getting in touch with Molly to congratulate her, and invite her connection with us. This is our first year of this Scholarship, but recall we have committed to a second year, which logically though not necessarily will continue to support Molly.
