We were saddened to hear that David died in palliative care over the weekend.
David came from Bournemouth, England. He worked for the car dealership, Noble Car Sales, in Dandenong and loved to talk about cars. David was a member of our club for 12 years and took on the job of Bunnings BBQ Coordinator in recent years. We will miss his cheerful countenance.
Pearl, the beautiful English sheepdog, attended the opening of the new Dulux paint store in Mornington-Tyabb Road. Our club president, Jo Davie, Jo Kidder (from the MCSC) and Mark Dobson from Mt Martha Rotary Club also attended. Acknowledgement and thanks were extended to Rotary and Dulux for the painting of the Ranch 2.0 units. Mornington Dulux will supply more paint to do the exterior painting in August.

The Bays 88k Fund Raiser for Nurse Education Fund, Wednesday 30th July
While Jade Phelan, CEO, and Steve O'Connor, CFO, run/walk a combined 88 kilometres in the one day, live from the hospital foyer, our club members will be teamed with The Bays volunteers to provide a sausage sizzle. All takings will contribute to the Nurse Education Fund. We will also assist with selling raffle tickets.
Mornington Rotary Club enjoys a wonderful relationship with The Bays so please come along to support this special event.
GUEST SPEAKERS
After a Committees evening and a Board meeting, we look forward to guest speakers in the next 2 weeks.
Marguerite P0ole will talk this week about the Mornington Green Legacy Gardens, where a tree can be planted in your memory - an interesting concept.
The following week we have Charlotte Redey from Rotaract. Charlotte is a most enthusiastic and energetic speaker and not to be missed!
WHAT'S ON IN OTHER CLUBS IN OUR DISTRICT?
Rotary Club of Sorrento
The Rotary Club of Sorrento is staging the Famous Insurance Brokers Point Nepean Heritage Motor Show on Sunday, 2 November 2025, as a community activity for all to enjoy. The location of the event at the historic Point Nepean Quarantine Station provides a unique and great environment for staging this heritage-themed event.
On the day, we are expecting more than 400 cars to be exhibited and approximately 2000 people to attend from both the local community and from afar. The event will be open to the public from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
