Welcome

Road to Reading is a signature event presented by the Rotary Club of Denton and is going into its fourth year. This project raises funds from within the community to purchase books for Pre-K and Kindergarten students in Denton ISD. We believe that by putting books into the hands of our youngest students, we can build interest and excitement for books early.

 

More than 30% of economically disadvantaged students are reading below grade level when they reach 3rd grade in our community. By getting young learners excited about books and literacy early, we hope to help change that number. Also, with families worried about paying bills and buying groceries, there is little money left for purchases such as books.
