Ryla 2023 was a success!
June 15th, Herb Prouty and wife along with Elaine Herzog transported four (4) Denton High School students to Stephenville, Texas to join in the RYLA LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE. This event was held at Tarleton State University. Kallie Happ and Nyx Newton will be seniors in the fall at Ryan High School. Zoe Wagner and Kerra Brawley attend Guyer High School. These 4 students were chosen to attend this RYLA event for different reasons: all of them positive. Each individual excels in their own way. They all have different interests and goals in life. Because they were selected to be a part of this weekend event that speaks volumes for their character. Upon arrival the excitement was palpable as we opened the car doors. Bells and whistles and high-volume chants ensued, literally. The upbeat noise and chanting of their names followed our students as they approached the entry to Legends Hall, which was their first stop of the weekend. It was the last I saw of them, but I knew they were in good hands!
Keri Caruthers and Vicki Byrd picked up Keera Brawley and Zoe Wagner on Sunday. Dan Morales was there with backpacks- thanks to MaryAnn McDuff for arranging that special gift! Zoe loved working on their skits all week. Teamwork! Keera excelled at the Etiquette Dinner! All of these kids will become community leaders- watch out!
