On June 8, Dr. Pam Trocki -Ables presented a unique and much needed program at UNT. ELEVAR is a post secondary education for students with intellectual disabilities (ID). It provides a full college experience to a small group of students who want additional schooling in preparation for a career. An important aspect of the program is that UNT ELEVAR welcomes their students into the Mean Green family. ELEVAR students have access to the full course catalogue at UNT for zero-credit (non degree seeking) classes focused on career interests. In addition they participate in classes designed for their needs e.g, life skills, financial literacy, career planning and health and wellness. ELEVAR students attend events and participate in traditional activities and dorm life alongside all other UNT students.
