December Service Project - Hearts for Homes

We will meet at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Hearts for Homes. 
It is located at 826 East McKinney Street Denton, Texas. 

The mission of Hearts for Homes is to improve the living conditions of low-income senior homeowners in Denton County.  Nearly one in every six seniors in America faces the threat of hunger and not being properly nourished.  This year will be the 16^th Annual Christmas Basket Project hosted by Hearts for Homes and is in response to this need!   Staff and volunteers of Hearts for Homes have been gathering donations for several months to support the basket project. H4H (Hearts for Homes) provides 2 large laundry baskets for every household served by Hearts for Homes.  One basket includes household goods like hygiene items, laundry detergent, toilet paper, and much more.  The other basket holds non-perishable food items like rice, canned goods, soup mixes, pasta, cornbread mixes, and other items they can store for future use.
H4H provides a spiral-sliced ham and a Christmas card with a $25 gift card to make the seniors feel loved during the holidays.

Hearts for Homes offers Christmas cheer by delivering a small, decorated Christmas tree or Christmas lights put up on their home or a wreath for their door.  What H4H provides for these seniors is a community-wide effort, but OUR commitment is hands-on!! 
We will be volunteering to assemble and deliver the baskets.
 Please join other Rotarians in our club and community volunteers to get these baskets filled
and delivered to senior recipients to brighten their Christmas holidays!

Susan Franks is the Director of Hearts for Homes and has given millions of hours to make the lives of seniors in our community better. So, let’s join in and make this an enjoyable experience.  You can include your children if they are old enough to walk and follow directions. Making it a family affair has many positive influences on each individual and on our city and community.
