Loveland Rotary Duck Race

August 22, 2020

The Cause

Our Annual Duck Race event is one of our main fundraiser events. Last year, we were able to raise $37,000 to support literacy and education in our Thompson School District schools. The funds primarily go towards scholarships, purchasing Chromebooks and accessories and books.

With even more community support, we can make this year's Duck Race bigger and better than ever!

The Race

Ducks are usually raced in the Big Thompson River starting at Fairgrounds Park in South Loveland. This year due to the Covid-19 restrictions we will have a virtual race and the race will not be open to the public. Instead, the Rotarians coordinating the race will make sure it is recorded and posted afterwards so you can see the ducks swim as they do each year. Winners will be announced online.

Sponsor Ducks

Sponsor ducks can be decorated and submitted for prizes! Ribbons will be awarded for the following categories:
  1. Best Named
  2. Best Dressed
  3. Most Creative
  4. Best Theme - a set of 3 or more decorated ducks that are alike in some manner.
  5. Student's Choice
  6. Rotary's Choice

Help Us Continue to Support our Local Schools

Funds raised by the Loveland Rotary Club Duck Race will be used to provide COVID-19 relief, promote literacy, and provide High School scholarships in the Thompson School District. Since 1997, the duck race has provided funds to award over $600,000 in educational, vocational and artist scholarships to students in the Thompson School District.
