Loren "Skip" Johnson a Thunderbird pilot 1996 - 1997
Loren "Skip" Johnson was a huge inspiration as he shared his stories. He was a Thunderbird pilot, Commander of Buckley Air Base, a United Airlines Pilot, and a Graduate of UNC.
"Skip" told us his stories of how honored he was to serve General Petraeus in Afghanistan and how difficult it was to leave his family for another tour. He shared the meaning of "Taps on the shoulder". How we need to be aware of our surroundings and not miss out on opportunities.
He also shared a touching memory from a visit to a hospital. He was there to encourage others and yet learned a great lesson. He calls it "Andy's Law". No matter who you are you can make a difference."
Nora, Rotary's exchange student, is going home to Sweden after being in the states for 11 months.
She too was an inspiration.
