Rotary Quote of the Week
"In Rotary, we mark August as Membership and Extension Month. There is a good reason why we remind ourselves of the importance of membership early in every Rotary year: because the job of growing our membership is one that we can never begin too soon. It is also a job that we can never stop working on. In order to keep serving, Rotary always needs to be growing!"
- Gary C.K. Huang, President, Rotary International 2004-15
The meeting was called to order at noon by President Brad Rosenbaum. Brad presented the invocation, Pete Sumey volunteered to lead us in the song and Pledge, and Jess Nielsen deftly handled guest introductions. Guests included: Pat and John Vorreiter from Sunnyvale CA, Max Eltawil from Renton Lake, TX, Merle Anderson from Davenport, IA, Steve Yager from Wichita, KS and John Kraft from Tallahassee, FL. John presented his club’s banner to Brad.
Brad led the club in the Happy Clap, twice. Remember, 1,2,3,4,2.
Announcements
Dave Evans reported that the raffle has had no winners and that the prize money has grown to a princely $232.50.
Brad reminded all that next Thursday, July 31, is the fifth Thursday of the month and there will be no Rotary meeting. He announced the first social of the new Rotary year, August 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Coffee on the Rocks. More information will be forthcoming.
