"As you may know the Newcomers Club was instrumental in allowing the Estes Valley Community Garden to construct 8 new raised garden beds for the residents of the Falcon Ridge Apartment Complex.  The apartment is owned and operated by the EP Housing Authority.   The Newcomers helped us not only build the foundations for our new beds, but Rod Stalder donated hours of tractor work that saved untold amounts of manual labor.  Since completing the construction of these beds however, we have run into numerous roadblocks in building a fence to surround the garden to keep elk, deer, and other wildlife out.  It is with this in mind that I was wondering if the Newcomers would have any time over the next few days to help us achieve this goal. The residents of the Falcon Ridge Apartment have begun planting seeds.  But they cannot transplant actual plants (like tomatoes, peppers, and other nursery purchased plants) until the fence is complete.  With our very short growing season, time is quickly becoming an issue.

Please let me know if you can help us, or if any individuals within the Newcomers would consider volunteering some personal time toward this goal.

6/19  Wed  8:00 - 10:00
