Going, Going, Gone!

Thursday will be our last club meeting in the National Park Village Theater after many years. While we had originally planned to meet there on Sept. 1, a serendipitous opportunity presented itself in the form of the Longs Peak Club's Garage Sale. CJ Jensen invited our club to donate items to the sale at the same time we realized that all contents of our meeting room would have to be disposed of prior to leaving the venue.

CJ invites you to donate to the Longs Peak Garage Sale. Bring "stuff" to Thursday's meeting.

So, come to Thursday's meeting dressed for work and bring hand tools. After our program, we will begin to haul items from storage closets, dismantle theatrical lights, and prepare all for the garage sale on Aug. 27. We will receive a portion of the garage sale proceeds to shore up our ailing budget, according to President Thor.

Also, bring any items you would like to donate to the Longs Peak Rotary Club sale.

Most importantly, remember to drive to Rodeway Inn for our first meeting there on Sept. 1.

Now, that's a lot to remember. Briefly:
  • Dress for work on Thursday
  • Bring garage sale items on Thursday
  • Mark your calendar for the Rodeway Inn beginning Sept. 1.

Mental health needs in Larimer County to be topic of Thursday's program

This week's program will provide insight into a proposed Mental Health, Detox/Substance Abuse Facility. Our speaker will be Cheryl Olson, a Fort Collins native, who is is co-chair of People for a Healthier Larimer County. She served as a Larimer County Commissioner from 1997-2001, including three years as chair. She also led the steering committee for the community-wide Mental Health and Substance Abuse Planning Project from 2001 to 2012.
