SoYoung Lee
SoYoung Lee currently serves as Executive & Artistic Director at Rocky Ridge Music. She received her Doctorate in Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has held director positions at Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory Adult Education & Preparatory Department, Millikin University Preparatory Division, and the Boulder Arts Academy & Boulder Ballet. A strong believer in the concept of artist as entrepreneur, she co-founded two organizations: Colorado-based AirTurn, a company dedicated to empowering musicians through technology; and Notes at 9,000 at Winter Park, a multi-genre music competition that launches emerging musicians by providing concert opportunities, funding, and mentoring. She is passionate about building community through the arts and is a trustee of the National Guild for Community Arts Education, Boulder County Arts Alliance, and is an advisory board member of Upbeat Colorado, and Americas for Conservation + the Arts.
An award-winning pianist and a Regents scholar, SoYoung is a recipient of the Ernő Dohnányi Piano Prize and the Gwendolyn Koldofsky Accompanying Fellowship at University of Southern California. She recently released a CD, In This World, with flutist Claudia Anderson. Equally at home as a teacher, she served on the music faculty at Millikin University and State University of New York, Fredonia, and was a visiting Piano Pedagogy faculty at the University of Colorado, Boulder. SoYoung enjoys her multi-faceted career as a performing artist, administrator, teacher, producer, and arts advocate.

Historic Mining Tour, Saturday, July 26!
Get out your rock hammers and kerosene lanterns! Based on the feedback we received to the survey regarding interest in the Historic Mining Tour that Neal Standard has graciously offered to lead, the preferred date is Saturday, July 26. As stated previously, we will meet in the Estes Park Parking Garage at 8 a.m.

Interact Clubs
Youth Service Director is a wonderful position if you enjoy working with students. This is a Board position as Chair. Our Bylaws state: “the Youth/Vocational Service Directorate develops and implements projects that are related to youth, schools, and career development.” We want to support our Interact program that we share with Sunrise Rotary. You will be bringing in an Inbound Exchange Student, as well as sending an Outbound Exchange student to another country. This is such an important position to help show our youth the fun and benefits of Rotary. You will meet very special students in the process.

Where will our efforts take us next year,
we (The International Committee) ask?
The past year saw successes in Ecuador, Haiti, Albania, India…… thanks to Ron’s leadership. At this inflection point, we’d like to ask what places/projects you would like to propose going into the new year.
Typically, great projects come to our attention as the year unfolds. There most likely will be repeat requests for ones we have already served, like Amaro Tan summer camp. We seem to give first priority to consideration projects championed by someone in our club or a sister club.
Do you have ones you are thinking about or know about that you would like to put forward?
The first project last year came from the Boulder Rotary for Haiti. Which will be our first this coming year? Do you have any preferences for investigating any particular country or projects for next year?
Ideas from all are appreciated! Interested in being on the International Committee? It's fulfilling to propose and consider International projects. Contact Chuck or Dale Bonza or Ron Gordon.
We look forward to receiving your ideas by July 1 as we begin the new year. From there we can focus and discuss what projects could be in our future.
