This week's speaker: Kristi Ehle
Topic: Parners Mentoring Youth

This week's program will feature Kristi Ehle, Partners Mentoring Youth program coordinator. Partners Mentoring Youth creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social, and academic lives. Partners Mentoring Youth has served the Estes Park community since 1996. By matching youth with adult mentors, the youth have additional support, a positive role model, and a friend. Data shows that upon completion of one year in the Partners program, youth show increased self-esteem, lower rates of delinquency, decreased intent to use drugs, and increased attachment to adults who are not parents or relatives.
Partners is currently recruiting new Mentors and Advisory Council members. For more information, please contact Kristi Ehle, Program Coordinator, at (970) 577-9348 or Kristie@partnersmentoringyouth.org. Website: www.partnersmentoringyouth.org.
Kristi is a Colorado native. She taught social studies at Estes Park High School before becoming the Program Coordinator for Partners Mentoring Youth. She lives in Lyons with her husband and dog and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in school counseling.

Happy Money
  • Rob Ludlum who gave us his best Scrooge impersonation, Jack Boatman who is happy he and his wife will be leaving for Texas for his daughter’s wedding; Jim Austin was happy for another successful Bright Christmas, and Jack Overly was happy that a recent event in which he participated raised $1,400 from Crossroads.
Program
Jack Overly introduced today’s program – Major 13 a choral group from the high school who provided an assortment of Christmas songs.  Major 13 received its  name because there are 13 students in the group and that major 13 is a jazz chord.
