Come and Meet Courtney Hill, COO, YMCA of the Rockies
Courtney Hill
Courtney Hill is the Chief Operating Officer for YMCA of the Rockies. Courtney first moved to Estes Park in 1993, graduated from Colorado State University in 1999 and began her career with the YMCA in 2003. She has filled various roles at the YMCA and became COO in 2023, where she provides strategic oversight of the operations, human resources, and strategic planning for the Estes Park and Winter Park locations as well as for camp. In her free time, Courtney enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband and two adult children (all three of whom were raised in Estes!).
Courtney will provide an overview of the YMCA - from mission and impact to facts and figures.
Our program on April 10th will be held in person, but a Zoom link will be provided.
The usual order of the meeting was changed today to make time for a forum for the five candidates running for the Estes Park Health Board.

Announcements:
Mark Lee reported we have 12 graduating student applicants to interview for our scholarships, next week, Wednesday through Friday at 1:30 at the High School. He welcomes any club members who want to come. May 7 is the awards ceremony.
Scott Robbins said we will have two potluck/hosted dinners on Friday April 18 at Whiteneck’s and Jonell’s. Batey’s and Solms have signed up as guests and there is room for two more couples at each home. He circulated a sign-up sheet. Hosts are serving pork tenderloin; guests bring sides and beverages.
Scott Robbins said the next Coffee Talk is this Saturday at 8:30 at Inkwell & Brew. Come and socialize and join Rotary!

Update from President Anne Slack
Jim and Carol Whiteneck and Jim and Joannie Jonell have offered to open their homes to host three couples each for a get-together. So far JoAnn and David Batey have signed up to join the Jonells. Bill and Marianne Solms and Eric and Suzy Blackhurst have signed up to join the Whitenecks. So the Jonells have room for 4 more Rotarians and the Whitenecks for 2.
I want to thank Scott Robbins for organizing this event and for Jim J. and Jim W. for volunteering to be hosts. This kind of social allows Rotarians to really get to visit with each other over a meal with good food and conversation. When I joined Rotary I went to Longley and Julie Parker’s home for a fun evening. They provided the entree and the other two couples plus Gordon and myself brought side dishes. It was so much fun. At that time I was really new to the club and it was a delightful way to feel included.
It would be nice to have several other Rotarians volunteer to be hosts so that more members could participate. There is some concern that it is occurring on Good Friday, April 18th. That date was selected by our two hosts as the best time for them. Hopefully, we won’t interfere with any religious services.
Rotary is about service above self. But it is also about feeling welcome and having fun. Please take advantage of what Scott has organized and what Jim W. and Jim J. have offered.

Reminder: Clean Up Day - April 26th
Announcing Community Clean Up Day: Saturday, April 26th. Please save that morning to help clean up the Town. This event is open to the public, so feel free to bring friends and neighbors. We will meet at 9:00 a.m.at the Visitor’s Center east side parking lot where you can pick up a route assignment and a large orange trash bag. Most routes take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. If you have a particular route that you would like to do, please let Beth know via email in advance, and she will reserve it for you.
We also could use one more member of our club to sit at the table at Visitor’s Center east side parking lot, and sign in the volunteers, hand them a pre-printed route assignment, and smile a lot. It's fun and easy. You can sit or stand. You would need to be there around 8:45 a.m. and should be all done by 9:30 a.m. at the latest, probably sooner. No experience necessary, and you won't be asked to pick up any trash unless you want to -- in which case you can have your choice of routes, and start out right after the crowd has gone. Please let Beth know if you would like to volunteer to help with sign-in/route assignments on April 26.
