July 21, 2022 Meeting Notes President Dennis Gellhaus rang the bell at 12:00 PM. Ben Van der Werf gave the Invocation.
President Dennis led the Pledge of Allegiance. Madison led us in song, “O What A Beautiful Morning”.

District Governor Lee Varra-Nelson M.J. Nichols, 2023 District Conference Chair. Guests of Rotarians: Tara Moenning introduced Stacy Foree, mother of scholarship winner Ben.
Marilyn Maher, wife of Tom Maher Announcements: - Foundation Board meeting today at 1:30 PM at Quality Inn.
- Shred-a-Thon on August 27 from 8:30 to 12:00 PM.
- Carl Robicheaux announced a sponsorship prize of a beautiful table hand crafted from wood by Pete Sinnott.
- Bronze sponsor will get one entry,
- Silver sponsor will get 3 entries into a raffle for the table.
- President Dennis announced:
- the meeting next week (28th) will be devoted to committee meetings.
- the price of the lunch at club meetings will be increased to $20 starting August 4th.
- President Dennis read thank you letters from Duck Race sponsors
- Special Olympics
- the Rocky Mountain National Park Conservancy.
- District Governor Lee requested that members consider serving as Committee Chairs for the 2023 District Conference to be held June 8-10 at the Ridgeline Hotel here in Estes Park.

Paul Harris Award: President Dennis awarded Phil Moenning his first Paul Harris. This award acknowledges a contribution by Phil, totaling $1,000, to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary International Foundation. It supports programs that saves and invigorates the lives of people around the world and enhances international understanding and friendship. It is through donations such as Phil’s that we move closer to universal understanding and a more peaceful world. We recognized Phil Moenning as a Paul Harris Fellow for the first time. Phil Moenning & Dennis Gellhaus Happy Money: - Mark Lee reported that the announcement of his anniversary last week helped him remember the event.
- Tom Gardner paid the $20 he pledged on Zoom last week.
- Barry Hannigan is glad he is not the Scribe this week. Next week, Barry.
- Ben Van der Werf is looking forward to the program presentation by Superintendent Ruby Bode. Ben is an Estes Park High School graduate.
Program: Today’s speaker is Estes Park School Superintendent Ruby Bode. Ruby has served the Estes Park School District since 2005 as a teacher and administrator. She began to serve as Superintendent on July 1. Ruby Bode accepting a Piece of the Rock from President Dennis Gellhaus Adjournment: President Dennis closed the club meeting with the 4 way test. |
