Update from President Anne Slack
In an effort to be transparent and to inform you of what is happening with your Club Board, I want to report the results of our meeting on Tuesday night, February 4.
The meeting began by approving both the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s Reports.
The President’s Report
25 applications mailed out concerning 100% Paul Harris. Ron and I are working hard to contact every member and let them know the importance of being 100% compliant. The result will give us a better payback from the District when we apply for a grant next time.
Past President Report was given by Gregg Jurgens as Karen had not been able to attend. The Foundation gave approval of donations from the Budgeted Designated Funds of $1428 for the LocallyHaiti project & $500 for high school choir. The Foundation became a Duck Race Organization. The next Foundation Board Meeting is February 20.

Under Old Business
Jim Austin will bring us suggested Bylaw revisions at our March meeting.
We discussed speaking with Susan Fereday about additional Liability Insurance for the Duck Race.
COPE forms were distributed to Jim Whiteneck to protect equipment at the Legion and to Scott Thompson to protect our equipment at the new storage bins.
Under New Business
Ron Gordon made a motion to pay for Jack Ford and Guy Van der Werf to attend PETS
Karen Thompson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Beth Weisberg made a motion to review contracts with non-Rotarians to ensure they are working voluntarily. Karol Rinehart seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The following Reports were given:
Fund Development Committee: Tara and Phil Moenning
August 9 is Estes Recycle Day. Want to include Crutches for Africa with event.
Membership Committee: Scott Robbins
7 people at Coffee Talk on February 1. Things discussed: Interested in satellite clubs. Looking for big speakers. Try to develop collateral materials. More social and service activities. Set expectations. Hosting dinners. Ruby Bode working on Facebook.
Club Administration: Karol Rinehart, Sergeant-at-Arms: Jim Whiteneck, and Youth/New Gen/Vocational: Jim Jonell had no reports.
International Services: Ron Gordon
Hoping to hear update from Haiti project.
Community Services: Beth Weisberg
Clean up day is last Saturday in April. Beth wants to be on the lookout for nonprofits that are not getting federally funded.
Duck Race Committee: Scott Thompson
Has a Meeting every Wednesday 3 PM at his office on the Duck Race.
74 organizations signed up. Next meeting will discuss operations. The following meeting will discuss volunteers. He did not hear from many members about whether or not they supported him as Big Duck. The recommendation was made that as President, I send out an email to the club that the Board supports the Duck Race 100%. (Please see below.)
