Bev Bachman, M.Ed.

As an educator with 40 years experience in public education - 36 of those years in Poudre School District, Bev Bachman has taught grades K-6, gifted-talented, and was an assistant principal. With degrees in zoology, reading, and administrative certification, Bev has a strong interest in science and learning.
Upon “retirement”, she became an education consultant.  She co-formed Exercise 4 Learning (www.exercise4learning.com) with her former principal to help educators to understand the research demonstrating the connection between exercise and learning and strategies for implementing that into the educational setting to maximize the educational experience of students.  She has also done education consulting around leadership, developing effective mission and vision statements, and instruction.  Bev lived in Estes Park from 1992-2003, and she and her husband returned in 2011.  They have hiked many miles in RMNP, walk every day, and enjoy the geology, flora, and fauna of our area. She has been Chair of the Estes Park School District Advisory and Accountability Committee (DAAC) for several years.  She was part of the interim board that formed the Estes Park Education Foundation (EPEF) and has served as its president since 2019.  She has also done volunteering in the schools.

Bright Christmas

We're making a list and checking it twice ... Christmas will be here before we know it, and we are still in need of many donations to brighten the holiday for our adopted family #14.

We still have several gaps in their wish list.  If anyone wants to participate, here is what we still need:
  • Pedicure/manicure for Itzel (16 year-old girl) -- maybe a gift certificate to someplace that does nails in Estes Park?
  • Barbie clothes for Kiara (7 year old girl)
  • Still need all of the clothes on the wish list for the whole family, except for sweaters.
    • Itzel needs size 15 Juniors pants and XL Juniors shirts;
    • Jessie (male age 14) needs size 32 mens pants, Large mens shirts, and Large mens socks
    • Saul (male age 11) needs pants and shirts size Medium mens, and Large mens socks
    • Kiara needs pants and shirts size Large girls, and socks size Large girls
    • Mom needs size 13 ladies pants, Large ladies shirts, and a Large ladies sweater.
  • Gift cards of any kind (for example Amazon, Visa, Kohls, H&M, Old Navy) or gift cards to any local Estes Park stores, especially those offering discounts to Bright Christmas families, would be great.
  • So far we don’t have anything for the single mom except for the vacuum cleaner.
  • Gift cards for food (groceries, restaurants, or other food places) in Estes Park.
Please do not wrap the gifts. Beth needs to be able to see them so she can fill in what is still needed.
Please do put a note or yellow sticky stating who the gift is for.

How can you get items to Beth?
  • Beth can shop for you! Just get her a check payable to Beth Weisberg in the amount you want to donate.
  • You can take items directly to Beth
  • Or, if you buy your own items, you can either
    • Drop them off at Beth's home (be sure to let her know so she can bring them inside)
    • or she will be happy to pick them up from you!
  • You can bring gifts or checks to the Rotary meeting on Thursday, December 2.
If you have questions, need Beth’s address or if you want to tell her that a check is on the way, please email her at  weisberg.family@verizon.net  .

The last day to get these items to Beth is December 5 so she can deliver everything to Bright Christmas by December 7.
If you want to donate to Bright Christmas efforts in general, you can write a check payable to Bright Christmas
Beth will be happy to deliver your check when she takes the gifts.
But please note these checks will not be usable for our adopted family.

Thank you for everyone’s help in making this holiday a happier one for our adopted Family #14!
