No Club Meeting on July 1, 2021

As a reminder, there will be NO MEETING on July 1. Our  President, Jim Whiteneck, welcomes all to attend the July 8th meeting.  We have a new location for two weeks at US Bank at noon.  See details below
Update from President Jim Whiteneck

Ready to Meet in PERSON?

We will be returning to face-to-fact/Zoom (hybrid) Meetings on July 8.  The link will be in next week’s Spoke.
  • Where: US Bank in the Community Room
  • When: July 8th and July 15th
  • The first week Caprissa Frawley, manager, will be graciously treating us to pizza, salad, water and tea.
  • Please do not park in US Bank’s spaces.  Park at the Library for $2 fee or the Parking Garage
  • Come at 12 noon as we do not have access to the Community Room before then.
We will soon be starting our Visioning/Strategic Planning process to:
  •  Gain insight into the direction we would like our Club to go.
  •  Help orient ourselves after COVID
  •  Ms. Sally Park will assist us with this process
  •  The Board will meet her on July 6th
  •  “It’s GREAT if we’re all rowing the same direction”!!!
I would appreciate any help with the Sergeant-at-Arms position. Uncle Sam (Jim) needs YOU!

Writers, step forward, please

The club needs some volunteers to handle publicity, the website and Facebook page. Thanks to Anne Slack and Dale Bonza, your weekly newsletter will continue the tradition of excellence.

The Duck Race has found a new publicity person, Leslie Botha of Loveland. She will handle social media, but may need some help with writing the articles.

General Publicity for the club: grants, awards, programs, membership, Golf Tournament, Friendship Card - whatever the board requests.

Club Website- updating, probably best done in conjunction with The Spoke.

Club Facebook Page - updating it with articles on our programs, club news, interesting items from R.I., photos of community service projects, etc.

Please contact me if you are interested in helping the club with publicity. raduchateau@gmail.com

Four students want to Thank You

Meila Igel was unable to attend our Noon Rotary meeting on June 3 but she wants to be sure to let you know how much she appreciated her Academic Award.  So she has made you a video.  Just click the link and see what she has to say.

She will attend the Colorado School of Mines in Fall with the intention of becoming a Pediatric physician.   https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N8fEgEtiVGCZchqqQS_B1CTxtGmmJoEE/view?usp=sharing

Ellie Bergsten sent a card reading: "Noon Rotary- Thank you so much for this opportunity.  It is going to enable me to reach my goals in the future and give me good experiences for my life outside of academic life. "  Ellie will be attending Concordia College.

Jana Coop sent a card reading: "Dear Rotary- My deepest thank you for your generous scholarship.  I love and appreciate the small town I have come from and all the many opportunities it has to offer.  Thank you for what you have done for all the Estes Park students. I will be attending Colorado Mesa University in the fall...Thank you for your generosity!"

Ruth Walker sent an email reading: "Dear Coffman Scholarship Donors, I am honored to be a recipient of the 2021 Coffman Scholarship at York College, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support to students who need it most. I am going to be a Freshman majoring in Business Management at York College and I hope to one day work at one of the major cattle ranches, and in particular, work at feedlots. At some point, I want to start my own business with sustainable farming, and this will give me the chance to guide businesses towards prosperity. Your scholarship has opened a door and the prospect of a brighter future will play a key role in shaping me into a successful person in future. Donors like you make life brighter for us and I can only hope that one day, I too will be in a position to bring a smile to another needy student. I cannot express my gratitude enough, and I want you to know that your generous support will see me achieve my dreams."
