Board Approves New Member Application Ruby Bode Ruby was born in Algona, Iowa. She was in a pre-med program at Iowa State University when she discovered her love for teaching. Ruby Bode's first successful teaching experience was when she tutored teenage girls to pass the GED at a homeless shelter in Des Moines, Iowa when she was 20 years old. That is when her aspirations to be a teacher began and she pursued secondary education. She has had a passion for learning and has continued to grow as a leader in education ever since. Ruby taught science in the classroom for 10 years before she was called upon to lead the middle school as principal. Ruby has been an administrator for the last 10 years. Ruby joined Estes Park School District in 2005 and has served in the capacity of teacher, coach, principal, director, and assistant superintendent. Most recently, Ruby was named the Superintendent of Estes Park Schools on July 1, 2022. Her vision and passion for the success of every student makes her leadership the beginning of a bright, new and exciting future for our students, teachers, district staff, parents and community. In addition to having a full time job as Superintendent, Ruby is also currently a doctoral student at Colorado State University. Due to her new job she had to extend her doctoral training from three years to five years. She holds a Masters of Educational Leadership, University of Northern Colorado. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education, Iowa State University. She married her husband, Zachery Sullivan, July 29, 2017. Tom Maher is her Sponsor. According to club bylaws, if there are no objections within seven days of publication, the applicant shall be considered elected to membership. |
