Come and Hear Mayor Gary Hall

Mayor Gary Hall

Gary Hall and his wife Linda came to Estes Park in 2003 after both of their daughters finished college. Gary worked at Estes Park Health for 18 years, overseeing operations, which included ancillary clinical departments as well as IT, Facilities, and more. Prior to that he had a 27-year career in software development and database management. Gary and Linda play music around town and have hiked/climbed all of Colorado’s fourteeners and love the mountains. Gary was elected Mayor of Estes Park in April 2024 and tries to listen to all, maintain civil discussion with all, and work to keep Estes beautiful and unique. There is much to be done ahead, thanks for your help and your service. Ever onward!

Duck Race Sponsorships

Did you know that last year Rotarians from our club provided $6,850 in sponsorships toward the Duck Race? Surely we can beat that this year!

In fact, we’re already a third of the way there! Four members already have contributed $2,350 toward the goal. Now, if every member gave just $100 we’d be able to more than match last year’s in-club sponsorships.

Please act today. Click here. Choose your level of sponsorship. Just follow the directions on the website form. Or, if you’d like, call Suzy Blackhurst at 970-443-1833, tell her what you want to do, and she’ll fill out the form for you!

Note that if you want to give at a level different that $100, $500, $1000, or $5000, the good ol' check method with a note on the memo line Duck Race, works just great. Bring it to Gregg at the meeting or send to Box 1365.

It’s that easy to become a special Duck Race Quacker!

Sponsors 1/4 Duck,

Suzy Blackhurst

Membership Minute

Hello, friends! It has been a busy few months in member recruitment at our club. We officially welcomed Val and Ben Van der Werf, Gary Fanucchi, and Dave Boon into our club. Jill Zerhan will be following shortly as soon as we can get her to a meeting to be inducted.

Now it's time to turn our attention to member support.

Last October, Grant Delbecq and I proposed to the Rotary board that we reach out to club membership to take the temperature of the club and our members. The idea was that after losing a significant number of members of the club last year and based on a few individual conversations with current members, individuals might be willing to share thoughts and concerns about the club if we talked with them 1:1.  Additionally, getting to know our members was highlighted in our member survey and committee meetings in 2025. The Board approved our idea, so now it's time to implement it.

It was our feeling that we could use these 1:1 conversations to assess satisfaction with current fundraisers and projects as well as potential new projects, to identify thoughts people have about possible social activities, and explore ways we can enhance members' Rotary experience. And don't forget, you are all welcome to join me for Coffee Talk with fellow Rotarians. Our next get together will be Saturday, February 7.

I strongly believe that member support is among the most important things we can do to ensure we have a strong and energized club. A member of the Membership Committee will be contacting you to get your thoughts. As we get ready to publicly launch the 2026 duck race, let's use this opportunity to work over the next three months energized and ready to go to make this duck race the best ever. ! I know our current quad of big ducks (Beth, Anne, Suzy, and Chuck) will be appreciative.
