Claudine Perrault, Suellen Brenner, and Sarah Walsh of the Estes Valley Library will speak at the Rotary Club of Estes Park on Thurs., November 5, at their regular noon meeting. They will share their plans for celebrating the Centennial of the Estes Valley Library.
In 2016, the Estes Valley Library will celebrate 100 years of award-winning service to the community. While much has changed over the past 100 years, the library’s devotion to serving the community while promoting free, open access to information and resources remains the same.
The Estes Valley Library brings people, ideas and opportunities together for the enrichment of our community. Perrault, Brenner, and Walsh will review the Library’s beginning and dream of its promising and cogent future.
Library Director Claudine Perrault has been with the Estes Valley Library since 2005 and won Best Colorado Librarian in 2014. Suellen Brenner has been the Library’s Adult Service Supervisor since May. With 27 years of diverse library experience, she brings new energy to our already thriving library community. Sarah Walsh has been the Development Officer at the Library since 2013 and looks forward to celebrating the Library’s Centennial with fellow Rotarians.
For many years, the Rotary Club of Estes Park has supported literacy in Estes by donating a children’s book to our library on a weekly basis.
President Scott opened the meeting and Rita DuChateau provided a thoughtful invocation. Dave Evans led us in song appropriate for today’s weather. Karen McClure did guest introductions. Wayne Newsom’s guest was long-time club member Lee Machin who joined our club on May 31, 1973 Lee is our longest-standing member.
Rotary Moment
Randy Skeie gave today’s Rotary Moment. Randy’s sponsor was former member Caliste Cenac. Randy was very interested in joining to meet new people but mainly to serve in an organization where he could give back to his community.

Happy Money
Jay Harroff was happy that he is bringing back the Tuskegee Airmen to Estes Park. They were the first black flying squadron.
Tom Maher was happy that Lee Machin attended our club meeting today.
Bob Brunson was happy that his “flying” friends flew him over to Grand Junction to see the air show.
Program
Rick Taylor introduced our guest speaker for today: Kristi Ehle, program director for Partners Mentoring Youth. Having served the Estes Park community since 1996, Partners Mentoring Youth creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social and academic lives. By matching youth with adult mentors, the youth have additional support, a positive role model, and a friend.
