February 17, 2022 Meeting Notes President Jim Whiteneck called the meeting to order at 12:00 pm.
Gail Corrigan gave the Invocation.
President Whiteneck led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Madison Casey led the song “America The Beautiful”.
Gail Corrigan was the Greeter.
Barry Hannigan took attendance. Guests of Rotarians:
Jim Whiteneck introduced Ben Vigil. Announcements: - Bill Solms announced that we still need volunteers/nominations
- for the Secretary and President-Elect positions.
- for the Treasurer position as Longley Parker is going to retire after many years as Treasurer
- people can be President more than once, as long as it has been 3 or 4 years.
- Pete Sinnott announced
- he has note pads left over from the Golf Tournament if anyone wants one for 10 cents apiece
- later Tara bought all 10 note pads
- Chuck Bonza discussed the “Josh The Otter Program” at the elementary school.
- Our Club provides funding for Josh The Otter books to help prevent drowning incidents.
- Chuck needs 6 volunteers to read the book to kindergarten children on May 6th at 8:30 – 9:30 am.

- President Whiteneck announced there will be a Foundation Meeting today at 1:30 pm.
- The Board held another Visioning Meeting recently and discussed
- changing the agenda for the 4th Thursday Meetings
- possibly having Committee Chairs give updates on their committee activities.
Scott Thompson told his Duck joke and also discussed sponsorships for the Duck Race and invited anyone to be a sponsor.
Lucky with Big Duck, Beth Weisberg Happy Money: - Barry Hannigan was happy for joining Rotary.
- Ben Vigil was happy to be present.
- Wayne Newsom was happy for Longley’s birthday, but he did not sing.
- Bill Solms was happy for those members who he knows will step up to be new Club Officers.
Program:
Kevin Mullin introduced the program speaker, Dr. Mark Wiesner, Pediatrician, Estes Park Health. Dr. Wiesner presented statistics on childhood Covid illness, hospitalizations, and vaccine effectiveness. He also noted that approximately 10% of children today do not have all their childhood vaccinations including mumps, measles and rubella, etc., which is a big concern.
