Dennis Gellhaus called the meeting to order at 12:04. Lee Lasson gave the Invocation Dennis Gellhaus led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Paul Harris Presentation: Annie then recognized Milt Garrett for the Paul Harris Fellowship.
It is his fifth contribution totaling $5000.00
to the Rotary International Foundation for worldwide humanitarian and educational programs.

It has one butterfly to represent Mary who described herself as a "social butterfly"

Milt Garrett was happy for a Russian who was a founder of a Rotary club and is now in the US
Bill Solms was also happy for the Russian founder
Dave Evans was happy because his children are having a birthday party for him.

Gregg Jurgens announced that the ducks will be sorted on April 7.
Lee Lasson said that next Thursday, March 31, at 1:30 they will move the duck support office to Ridgeline.

Tara Moenning reported on Fundraising Committee setting dates for various events:
Shred-a-thon is Aug. 27
John Denver concert at the YMCA Sept. 3
winter dinner will be Dec. 6 or 7
applications for scholarships will be available after April 1
The Carver Scholarship will be offered this year for the last time due to expired funds
she went over the other named scholarships
Longley Parker passed out the Treasury Report.
There are two budgets:

a project budget
The funding sources for the project budget are

The friendship cards have generated almost $9000.00 this year
Those funds will be available for projects next year.
Beth Weisberg discussed the Duck Race and Community Service.
There are 65 organizations involved with Duck Race, all of whom are sending volunteers.
EPNRC will manage the river and will need about 60 river patrollers.
Scott Thompson is doing well with sponsors
the last day to sign up for that and be recognized is March 30.
Annie Slack needs more help with contacting businesses for prizes, so please sign up.
Visit Estes Park has helped very much with the publicity.
Community Service has $1800 left for this year.
Please talk to her if you have an idea for an in-person project.

to help people who are thinking of joining the organization.
All club members are asked to come help sort the ducks at Quality Inn, immediately following the noon Rotary meeting on Thursday, April 7.

Dear Club Members, we need Merchant Prize Volunteers.
Please help us to follow up with businesses we have not heard from since mailing a prize request form to them.
We have approximately 350 merchants who usually gladly give a prize if contacted personally either by phone or in person.
Often they are just busy and forget so a reminder helps them and us. We want these prizes to enhance our Duck Race so there are lots of winners.
Anne Slack can send you a packet of business names, 5, 10 or 20 merchants that you may contact.
She can send you
the Volunteer Instruction sheet,
a list of merchants and
the prize donor form all electronically by email.
Or she can bring it to you in hard copy.
Thanks to everyone who has signed up.
We welcome anyone else who wants to help contact businesses for prizes.
Spring Clean Up Day
It’s Spring Clean Up time again!
Over the winter a lot of trash and debris collects along our roads, in trees and bushes, around our lakes, and along the river.
Many volunteers are needed to assist in the annual cleanup of our Town in preparation for the Duck Race, to create a safer environment, and to beautify our community for residents and visitors.
Mark your calendars for the morning of Saturday, April 30th, 9 am to noon to help with this effort, a collaboration of the Town of Estes Park, the Rotary Club of Estes Park, the Estes Valley Recreation and Parks Department, and Atlas Disposal.
Groups and volunteers are asked to meet at 9 am at the east side of the Visitor’s Center for instructions, route assignments, and distribution of orange bags.

International Committee Spearheads Local Fundraising for Rotary Relief to Ukraine
Our Rotary Club of Estes Park is taking the initiative to encourage contributions to the Rotary International Disaster Response Fund to support disaster response grants to districts in Eastern Europe affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
These expedited Disaster Response Grants can be used to supply water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing.
To date our club has donated $5,301.
Our club Foundation has approved up to $5000 to match whatever the club gives.
It would be great if the club donations far exceeded the Foundation’s match!

Timeline
Our target date for completing this effort is March 31, but prompt donations will be appreciated, as the need is immediate!
The treasurer of the Noon Rotary will forward donations to the RI Foundation frequently because of the urgency of the situation.
A listing will accompany these mailings of each donor and amount.
Donations will be accepted after March 31, but the spirit of this “deadline” is to quickly supply as much aid as possible through the RI Disaster Response Fund to Rotary Districts in Eastern Europe that are supplying needed water, food, medicine, shelter, supplies, and clothing.
Amaro Tan Playground Plaque

During a recent visit to Albania, NG USA Executive Director and Rotarian Michelle Mann was present for the installation of a very special plaque at the playground at Amaro Tan School.
The playground was installed last fall at the kindergarten, the result of a grant from Rotary Club of Estes Park and Rotary District 5440.
It features an age-appropriate play structure with slides, a swingset, a seesaw, and a refurbished sandbox.
The children at Amaro Tan enjoy it every day.
The plaque reads “The Amaro Tan School Playground, generously donated by Rotary,” in English and Albanian, and features the logos of Rotary International, Rotary Club of Estes Park, and Nehemiah Gateway Albania.
Nehemiah Gateway Albania is incredibly grateful for Rotary Club of Estes Park’s support, which has brought aid and joy to many of the children we work with. Amaro Tan is a school for at-risk children living in extreme poverty.
The school provides a safe and supportive place for them to learn and grow—and now, a wonderful new place to play!
