The real work of a club happens at the committee level, and this week's meeting will give everyone the chance to engage in this important work. Following lunch and a brief business meeting, members will gather in groups related to their interests.
You can see what you indicated as your area of interest at the bottom of your Spoke every week. But, fear not! It's never too late to join in, try something new, or simply "shop" for a group.
Here are the club members who will lead the small group work at Thursday's meeting:
Doug Mann - International Service Sue Fereday - Youth/New Generation Service
Karen Thompson - Fund Development
Karol Rinehart - Club Administration
Bill Solms - Sargeant-at-Arms Rick Taylor - Programs
Scott Thompson - Membership Roger Thorp - Community Service
Bring your energy, your ideas and your willingness to help the Rotary Club of Estes Park be a better club for all of its members. You make a difference!
Time to Move!
Beginning Thursday, May 24, our club will meet at The Ridgeline Hotel. Mark your calendar, write yourself a note, tell your Rotary friends about our new meeting place. Help us get the word out to club members who may not read The Spoke every week or attend weekly meetings.
Our last meeting at the Rodeway Inn will be Thursday, May 17, so please be there to say goodbye to Chester, Lil and the gang.
Details:
May 17: Last meeting at Rodeway Inn
May 24: First meeting at the Ridgeline Hotel, 101 South St. Vrain Ave., Estes Park. See you in the Trail Ridge Room. Luncheon cost: $15.

Help the Duck Race Festival
Everyone knows the Estes Park Rotary Duck Race Festival is the place to be on the first Saturday in May. But, did you know that you do not have to be a Rotarian to help? That's right, Rotarians! You can invite your friends to help.
“We welcome volunteers who can give a few hours on Friday, May 4 and/or Saturday, May 5. No special skills are required except a positive attitude,” said Scott Thompson, Estes Park Rotary Duck Race Festival volunteer coordinator.
Thompson is looking for volunteers to help with:
Setting up and taking down equipment at the start and finish lines
Selling duck-themed race memorabilia at Bond Park and Riverside Plaza
Supporting operations in Bond Park for charities and organizations
Helping to display sponsor ducks
Ensuring safety along the riverbanks
Keeping the ducks from getting snagged in the river.
Our Estes Park Rotary Duck Race Sponsors make our travel prizes possible and help keep our operating cost low. Thanks! Ask Bill Solms for the complete list of Major, Associate and In-Kind Sponsors!
Rotary Quote of the Week
"Much responsibility rests upon the shoulders of the song leader; it is not infrequently within his power to make or break a meeting."
