Courtney first moved to Estes Park in 1993, graduated from Colorado State University in 1999 and began her career with the YMCA in 2003. She has filled various roles at the YMCA and became COO in 2023, where she provides strategic oversight of the operations, human resources and strategic planning for the Estes.Park and Winter Park locations as well as for camp.
Courtney will provide an overview of the YMCA - from mission and impact to facts and figures.
Our program on January 9th will be held in person, but a Zoom link will be provided.

We have completed six months of this Rotary year. I am so pleased with what we have accomplished, and I hope you are too.
We started our Rotary fiscal year off in July with:
The Rooftop Rodeo Parade shared with Sunrise Rotary.
An invite to the Legion for a dedication of the Lakeside Deck with a plaque with Rotary’s name on it as a donor.
Advertising our meetings in Estes Park News free of charge thanks to Kris and Gary Hazelton.
Handing out the Membership Satisfaction Surveys, to learn how to meet the desires of our club members.
The loss of our dear friend and long-time Rotarian Jack Overly.
August found us active in:
Our yearly Shred-A-Thon where we raised $1743.60 for scholarships.
Preparing for the John Denver Tribute Concert.
The arrival of those delicious Palisade Peaches.
Our Amaro Tan Project supporting a summer camp in Albania was approved, receiving $1860 from the club and $2,340 from the District.
The Learning Place received $1400 from our club and $2,100 from the District.
We supplemented those grants with $493 from Project funds.Elementary
In September:
The Nominating Committee worked on setting up Officers and Directors for Rotary 2025-2026.
The John Denver Tribute Concert yielded over $30,000 for scholarships.
Elk Fest produced $5785.56.
Three committees were formed: Public Image, 100% Paul Harris, and Documentation.
We held our Annual Meeting on October 10th:
We could not elect our Nomination Slate due to no President Elect.
A Treasurer’s Report for the Club and Duck Races of 2024 with proposed budget for 2025.
All the Committees gave reports.
Scott Robbins attended the District Assembly in Cheyenne and gave us a report.
The Friendship Card update was initiated.
Matching Charitable Donations were open for members to donate from $50 to $300 to a non-profit organization of their choice with our Foundation matching that amount.
End Polio Now was on October 24th and our District Governor, Julie Haffner, presented to our club.
A group went to visit Restoration Ranch - Colorado, after Pumpkin Distribution at the Elementary school.
November brought us:
a President-Elect Nominee in Guy Van der Werf so we were finally able to conclude our Nomination Slate for Rotary 2025-2026.
Thanks to Jim Austin, we were able to officially update our Club’s Constitution.
Beth Weisberg prepared us for Blue Santa with the club donating $750, and for Bright Christmas with $1465 donated by our members.
a donation of $2536 to the Career and Technical Education program at the High School for the students to repair a retaining wall that was collapsing.
We donated $3100 to ShelterBox USA who doubled that amount to $6200 to help the people affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
We participated in the Lighting of the Tree Ceremony and the Catch The Glow Parade with a large wire duck decorated in yellow lights to bring awareness of our May 3, 2025 Duck Race.
$8,900 was donated by our members to the Matching Donation Program, bringing the total to $17,800 with a match from the Foundation for our local selected non-profit organizations.
Restoration Ranch - Colorado received $1428 from our Foundation’s budgeted designated funds.
December brought us:
A celebration of our holiday Foundation Dinner.
A second smaller Bright Christmas family was supported by our club with another $250.
The Foundation gave another $1428 to support LocallyHaiti.
The Audit and Insurance Committees were approved.
Be proud of your club! We are being beneficial to all. And this was only half of our Rotary year!

Membership Minute
Well, the holidays are over and that means it's time to reconvene the Membership Committee. When last we met, we talked about a variety of membership activity options for the current year. It's time to pick some dates for these activities.
Our next meeting of the Membership Committee will be Thursday, January 9, 2025 after our regular Rotary meeting at the American Legion.
In other news, Coffee Talk on Saturday, January 4, 2024 had four members participating: Annie, Jim J, Jim W, and myself. Annie had a good idea for a membership support activity, Jim W was looking forward (with some trepidation) to entertaining his 11-year-old granddaughter, and Jim Jonell shared some of the finer points of child psychology. As always, it was a nice chance to learn a bit more about fellow Rotarians.

Friendship Card sales help to raise funds for serving our neighbors who need financial help. The 2025 Friendship discount cards are on sale at our Club meetings, and can be purchased at the following locations for $10 each:
CABINtique, Country Market, Estes Park Visitor Center, Macdonald Book Shop, Mad Moose, Safeway Guest Services, Quality Inn, and Wynbrier Home/Wynbrier Ltd.
There are brochures that can be picked up with the card, giving the names of the merchants who provide the discounts.
