Continued Workshop
Setting Goals
for Our Club’s Future

President Annie

By request from our members we will be conducting another workshop this coming Thursday to continue our discussions from January.  We’ll divide up into our pillar groups and work to establish specific goals for the next three years.

I have added several subjects to each pillar for members to consider.  These subjects developed out of the results of our January workshop.

Come and have fun.  If you really want to change groups, you may.  Be sure that everyone participates and shares their ideas.  I also was advised to not worry about reporting results at the end of our workshop but to allow maximum time for discussion.

See you Thursday.

Our program on February 27th will be held in person, but a Zoom link will be provided.

Update from President Anne Slack

Our new incoming Rotary International President Mário César Martins de Camargo has selected his theme as “Unite for Good” by using the power of human connection to welcome new members, collaborate on service projects, and build our global impact so Rotary members can create positive change.

This week those thoughts led me to understand that we are family.  I realized this as I passed information to Jack Ford, our incoming President, so he could lead the meeting last Thursday.  All the concern and good wishes that came my way about Gordon meant so much to me.

There is more to it than the care I was shown.  I was thinking about the new Duck Race format and the multiple issues that have come up and been addressed. Hopefully it is a positive change.

I was thinking about Ron Gordon and my efforts to create a 100% Paul Harris club and the number of members questioning contributions to our parent organization which works for a positive change with global impact.

When I considered all of that, I thought we are just like a family, sometimes we get along, sometimes we disagree but in the grander picture we love and respect each other. We need to remember we are all volunteers doing what we choose to do, want to do, enjoy doing, when we provide service above self and unite for good.

Many thanks to all of you for being who you are, contributing your particular talents to our club and being part of The Rotary Club of Estes Park’s family.

Until next time,
Annie
