David Wolf has served as the Fire Chief for the Estes Valley Fire Protection District since 2016. He has been active in the fire service for over 20 years, serving agencies in Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and Colorado. David chairs the Volunteer & Combination Section for Colorado State Chiefs and is always looking for new ways to support the volunteer fire service.David has a wonderful program for you. When you have 500 pumpkins lined up to be cherished by 500 children, you have good day! Watching these small children trying to lift a pumpkin as large as they are is well worth it. Some ended up moving to a bit smaller pumpkin while others rolled them Into the school or got assistance from one of the interact kids or adults. What fun! To their credit, I didn’t see any pumpkins dropped!
Special thanks to Safeway for their yearly donation of pumpkins. And to Susan Fereday, Beth and her committee for all of their work. And thanks to all the helping hands that unloaded and set out the pumpkins.
Again, remember the Scholarship dinner coming up December 6th
at Twin Owls. Let’s fill up the place!

It will be held live in the Wasson Room in the library
on Zoom starting at 5 p.m.
Jack Boatman announced that the Foundation matching charitable program
will accept contributions up to $150

Jim Whiteneck promoted a performance of a visiting band at the American Legion.
Chuck Bonza reported that the Ukrainian Resettlement Fund will be closing on Monday.
$1,250 has been collected toward a goal of $2,500.
Karen Thompson reported that beer sales at the Elk Fest grossed over $5,000.
Carl Robicheaux says that November 3 will be Gumbo Day at the American Legion.
Carl also reported that the golf tournament has grossed over $20,000.
The drawing for the grand prize table built by Pete Sinnott was held to be awarded to a golf tournament sponsor.

Scott Thompson announced that visitor Chris Davis has joined Thompson Group.
Jim Austin is celebrating 48 years in Estes Park.
He survived the Elk Fest due to the organizational skills Karen Thompson displayed in organizing the beer sales.

Pumpkin Distribution at Estes Park Elementary
Last Thursday, October 20th.
Rotarians and High School Interact Students Getting the Pumpkins Ready!
Pumpkin distribution at Estes Park Elementary School was a huge success. Sue Fereday hauled the pumpkins from Safeway to the school with her office staff assisting -- thanks to Sue and her helpers! Estes Park High School now has an Interact program in coordination with the Student Council, and 12 Interact high school joined 15 Rotarians at the elementary to set up the "pumpkin patch" at the elementary school and help the excited children pick their own bright orange pumpkins. It was a beautiful day, and lots of fun to watch the kids' (and teachers') happy faces. Even more fun to watch the kids rolling their pumpkins downhill to their buses (and dropping a couple). Amazingly none of the pumpkins broke! Thanks to the Safeway for generously donating 500 pumpkins, and to Safeway manager Jared Allen for making sure everything went smoothly. And thanks to all of our Rotarians and Interact students who lent a multi-generational feeling of goodwill to the day!

2022 Matching Charitable Donation Program
Due Date: November 17, 2022
The Rotary Club of Estes Park Foundation is conducting a matching charitable donation program this fall to supplement donations to local non-profits.
The maximum matching donation amount is $150 per member and the minimum donation amount is $50. Rotary Club of Estes Park members will be able to apply for matching donations from the Foundation between October 13 and November 17, 2022.
The Foundation will be providing matching donations to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations serving Estes Valley residents and in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State.
The application form which provides detailed instructions is available on the club website and will be available at the weekly club meetings. You will also be receiving an email with the application form attached.
