No plan? Come to our program on advance directives 
 
“What’s Your Plan?” How can you have a say in your end-of-life care? Who would make your medical decisions if you were unable to speak for yourself? On Thursday, June 1, you can learn how to put a plan in writing and to effectively communicate your plan with your loved ones and the medical community. Our speaker will be Mindy Rickard, Larimer County Advance Care Plan Team Lead. The Larimer Advance Care Planning Team can guide individuals 18 years and older at no cost to complete their advance directives. 
 
Mindy Rickard

While overseeing the team, Mindy Rickard also serves as a guide to engage individuals and families in having a say in their end-of-life care and oversees outreach to engage the community in advance care planning.

​Born in New Berlin, New York, Mindy was raised on a dairy farm outside of West Winfield New York. She came to Colorado and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology form the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to joining the Larimer Advance Care Planning Team, Mindy was the Executive Director of The Bridge Assisted Living for more than 18 years.Before joining The Bridge Assisted Living, Mindy was the Lead Ombudsman for Weld County.

Mindy shares her country home with her husband Steve, two Morgan horses, five incredibly spoiled barn cats and her little dog, Thor. In her spare time, Mindy enjoys riding her horses, reading, cooking and walking.

May 25 meeting notes
 
President Thor Homme called the meeting to order. Dave Evans gave the invocation along with the song and pledge. "God Bless America" was sung by all. Jim Austin led guest introductions, Wayne Newsom introduced his wife Pat, and Virgil Holtgrewe introduced his wife Carol. Also in attendance was our Assistant District Governor Ron Randle. Our speaker today was Diane Kessel Knight her program was called "A Light in the Dark".

Program 
Virgil introduced Diane Kessel Knight. Diane spoke of her life-changing climb to Mt. Kilimanjaro which sparked her passion for our Rotary Foundation. Diane signed a book for the library after her program.

It's time to play golf!
 
The Golf Committee has ordered a sunny day for Saturday,  June 24 so now all that's needed is your participation. Sign up this week and plan to have a great time at the 21st Rotary Club of Estes Park Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament.
 
Prizes galore, generous sponsors, and fun competition will make this a memorable event. And all proceeds benefit our scholarship fund.

As our Rotary year draws to a close, it's time to celebrate, recognize and thank club members who made 2016-17  memorable and successful. President's Night also looks ahead to the 2017-18 Rotary year and salutes the new officers, Club Board and Foundation Board members.
 
While our club focuses on Service Above Self, this event is an evening to look within the organization and take pride in the year's accomplishments. It's a special program and we hope you will join in the fun, food and fellowship.
 
When? THURSDAY, JUNE 22  5:30 p.m. cash bar, 6 p.m. dinner, and 7 p.m. program
