Bonjours and pryvit, as you know, I run a monthly Zoom call with contacts in Ukraine, open to anyone who wants to join in and learn in order to better support Ukraine. I have provisional confirmation (depending on whether their units are shifted) that two truly amazing women members of the armed forces of Ukraine will be on the April 1 call. One is poet Yaryna Chornohuz, the other is Senior Sargent Daria Zubenko, also an accomplished civilian before enlisting. I heard them on the webinar that is advertised below, and I was floored. Who will lead us into peace if not womankind? I am trying to promote this particular call, so if you know of anyone who might be interested in hearing from two heroic yet humble women, please let them know.

Meeting Minutes for March 28, 2024
President-Elect Annie Slack rang the bell at 11:57 A.M. Tim Moore gave the Invocation. Annie led the Pledge of Allegiance. Madison Casey played song “Easter Parade.”

Annie reminded everyone that on May 30th we will meet at High Peaks Camp at noon for a social.
Sunrise Rotary will join us.

The Rotary Club board Meeting is April 2nd
District Conference in Steamboat is May 16-18.
A local person, Teri Ford, has a Yamaha baby grand piano that is free….does anyone want it?
Scott Robbins provided a summary of the Duck Race:
The town has OK’d the Bond Park entertainment. .
Sponsorships are going well, but more would be welcome.
We’ve sold 900 ducks already, which is on schedule.
We are loaning some ducks to a Fort Collins Rotary Club for their first duck race.
In exchange they are providing ten volunteers for our event.
Volunteers are still needed for Duck Race day.
Tim Moore announced that there are 145 prizes from 52 merchants
Jim Jonell gave a shoutout to
Dave Boon for helping with young RYLA and the Interact programs.
There is a program at the high school this coming Wednesday on
mental health with students.
Adult volunteers are needed to support this event

Program: Annie Slack introduced Jack E. Barker, who spoke about the different clean water systems that are manufactured at Innovative Water Technologies, Inc. He showed examples of many projects in different countries that provide clean water at an extremely reasonable cost for entire communities. Rotary has been a sponsor for many of these projects.

Jean Rissmiller spoke about the Global Grant that Sunrise Rotary is putting together to provide one of Innovative Water Technologies, Inc. units to a village in Ecuador. They will also be providing chickens to the village that they can raise for protein now that they will have water easily available.

Youth and Mental Health Program
Wednesday at the High School
1 PM
Dear Members
Here is an opportunity to make a difference. Next Wednesday at 1PM there will be a conversation at the High School dealing with youth and mental health. The folks that are sponsoring this event are needing adults from the community to participate. I hope you will go to the library site read the information and sign up. We would love to have your input and support. This event supports Rotary International theme of making a difference for mental health. Our youth would be pleased with your support.
Please volunteer to help follow up with merchants about donating prizes for the Duck Race. We have 18 volunteers so far, but there will be hundreds of merchants to follow up with. The more merchants we can connect with, the more prizes we will have for the Duck Race.
We will show you how to do this -- it's very easy. This can be done either in person or by phone, your choice. Most of our merchants love the Duck Race and are happy to donate prizes. A big thank you to the 12 people who have already volunteered to help. If you haven't already signed up and would like to, please let Beth know at the meeting on Thursday, or else email her at weisberg.family@verizon.net .
We will be assigning which volunteers are to contact which merchants around March 14, So please let Beth know as soon as possible if you are willing to help.

Community Service Meeting April 11, 2024
Dear Community Service Committee Members,
We will be having a Community Service Committee meeting on Thursday, April 11, right after the regular Rotary meeting ends at 1:00 p.m. Dave Boon has brought us a potentially exciting project to help fund construction of a community garden for residents of the Falcon Ridge Apartments to grow their own vegetables, and he will be at our Committee meeting to answer questions. Please see details in the email I sent out on 3/22 and try to attend the Committee meeting on April 11. If we vote to approve the requested funding, then I will present that recommendation to the Board at their meeting on the first Tuesday in May.
