Rotarian in Action

What is a Rotarian in Action? Sometimes it is volunteering

in the community, sometimes it is excelling at work.

Congratulations to Brittany Wilson, CPA, of McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP

for being one of only 38 CPAs honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)

as a member of the Leadership Academy's 11th graduating class.

Brittany was selected based on her exceptional leadership skills and

professional experience for the four-day Leadership Academy program,

which will be held from October 6-10 in Durham, North Carolina.

October 24 Is End Polio Now Day

Thirty Years ago 350,00 children were contracting the deadly polio virus.

Thanks to Rotary’s leadership and the investment the number of cases has

been reduced to 99%.  Last year, there were only 33 new cases reported.

This has been accomplished through the generous donations by Rotarians

and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

This year we will have the collection cans available at each meeting.

They will be collected October 23.

Donation is simple-Pick up your donation can, fill it and return it.

Donations will  be matched 2-1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

You may also make your designated donation on-line at

rotary .org specifying the Polio Fund. If you choose this method,

please let Brittany Wilson, bwilson@mhpllp.com know.
