Youth Challenge Sponsorship Presentation

On June 14th, Israel (Izzy) Caminero, his parents, Sandy and Israel Sr., and Melissa Thurstone (representing Youth Challenge) joined us for our lunch meeting.  Every year our club sponsors a child with disabilities to a year long of activities at Youth Challenge, based in Westlake.

Pictured are Izzy and Melissa Thurstone from Youth Challenge.

Izzy is telling the club members about the sports that he likes to play at Youth Challenge.
Club president Tom Eble, presents the check for $1500 to Youth Challenge to pay for Izzy's activities this coming year.

Izzy is 7 1/2 years old and lives in North Olmsted.  He lost his leg due to cancer  when he was 5 years old.  He is a resilient, competitive and charming young man.  He loves to play sports, especially soccer, and Youth Challenge gives him the chance to play like any other child.  Seeing others like himself also gives him the strength to make his disability a "proability".

Youth Challenge brings together children with physical disabilities and youth volunteers who enrich each others  lives through one-on-one participation in adapted sports and recreational activities.  Learn more at www.youthchallengesports.com
