Highlights from last week's program:

Don Coughlin, our host, is spreading happiness with his wife, Ellen.  Together, they are donating food to the Good Samaritan Hunger Center in Akron.  They hope to make a difference during this Covid-19 time. Thanks for sharing your kindness with those less fortunate in our community!

Don introduced our speaker, Arthur Brite, a nationally recognized, motivational speaker and author.  Mr. Brite believes success is all about building relationships, the key being to treat others as you would want to be treated. His 37 years in sales taught him well!   He explained to us that good relationships result when respect and trust are combined together.  Integrity, honesty and humanity are what people value in their personal lives, and in their business lives.  He emphasized a key element for employers --- hire the person, not the resume.  Businesses can always train and develop the right person.

There are five things that people want in a leader:  genuineness, passion, connectivity, inspiration and vision.  Leadership should inspire fun in the workplace, but not at the expense of others; off-color jokes and disparaging/disrespectful comments are never welcome.  He concluded with his four "C's" for success. They are: commitment, communication, connection and creativity.  These establish an atmosphere where people matter and provide each individual a level of confidence and control.  For more information, our speaker can be contacted at ArthurBrite.com.  Thank you Arthur for your insights!
