Happy Bucks!

Tina Gary completed her part on a relay team at the Burning River Race, running from 11:05 p.m. to 1:37 a.m.  Tina, YOU ROCK!!

Ron Taggart shared his pride in Rotary when he announced that Nigeria has been deemed polio-free after 4 years of no new cases.  Only Pakistan and Afghanistan still battle polio cases.  Our Club has been part of the polio eradication effort for 40 years.  THANK YOU ROTARIANS!

Each of Elizabeth Eaken's daughters began remote semesters at their respective colleges; a senior at KSU and a freshman at OSU.  Best wishes to all students, teachers and administrators.  May everyone stay well!

Brad Ruth's son is playing 'live' soccer, once again, AND Brad admits that he missed attending the matches.  May the fall sports programs at all schools 'live long and prosper' this year!!

The Club received a thank-you note from Ronald McDonald House, expressing appreciation for our recent donation.

Michael Kostyack, a prospective member of our Club was introduced.  Mike is the new Human Resources Director for the Stow-Munroe Falls School District. Be sure to introduce yourselves to Mike!

A BIG ROTARY shout-out to EVERYONE who helped CLEAN UP STOW on Saturday.  Dave Renninger was out early, combing for TRASH on Graham Road.   Thank you for your service to our Club!

Another BIG ROTARY shout-out to EVERYONE who helped with our Shoebox project.  We filled 25 shoeboxes with school supplies, small toys, clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene items.  Additionally, 10 layette bags were filled!  I am certain the children in Nicaragua are grateful for our generosity.  Thank you, one and all!!

Highlights from last week's program:

Rick Archer described his happiness moment --- he is proud to share his talents to help non-profit organizations file Forms 990.  Rick, thank you for your service and charity.

Jennifer Cork, Executive Director of the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce was introduced, as were her guests from Summa Health System.

Luke Smith and Michelle Vinson talked with us about the Summa Health Stow Medical Center, under construction at 3825 Fishcreek Rd.  The first floor of the building will house Urgent Care, Lab Care Plus and departments for imaging and infusion, cardiac testing, pulmonary testing, as well as behavioral health.  The second floor will house physician offices, including a large internal medicine practice and an OB/GYN practice.  Physicians specializing in cardiology, pulmonology and urology will work together with the primary care physicians in this integrated practice.  Summa plans to open the facility in June of 2021.

Tracie Kinaitis outlined the Summacare Chamber Health Benefits Plan, which is a partnership with the Greater Akron Chamber.  The plan can be a big benefit to small businesses with fewer than 50 employees.  Risk is pooled so lower insurance rates result.  The plan, with a health and wellness focus, includes a 24-hour nurse helpline, eye wear and Web MD.  Realtors and the Construction Trade are high users of this opportunity.  Call 330-434-SAVE for more information about the Chamber Health Benefits Plan.  Questions can also be addressed with Jennifer Cork.

All speakers were invited to learn more about Rotary!
