Happy Bucks!

Brad Jagger  told us about his daughter, Rachael's job search progress.  She is relocating to Florida because possibilities are more plentiful in the sun!  We wish her GOOD LUCK!

Mary Dula  really enjoyed her recent meal delivery Pancho and Leftys.  More deliveries will be made to her home soon!!  Cheers!

Dick Hall reported that his youngest son, who is an architect and construction manager for Disney cruise ships, received a GOOD promotion.  He is responsible for 20 sections of a new ship.  Congratulations!

Linda Trevorrow was thrilled to see 35 club members' smiles on her computer screen!  Imagine the size of the table at SLCC if we all sat together?!  Thank you for your attendance and attention!

Highlights from last week's meeting:

Career Tech Month will give us opportunities to learn about a variety of career choices available to young and old, alike.  Dick Hall is the host for all meetings this month!  His Happiness Moment this past week ---- helping his neighbors shovel their sidewalks.  Dick --- you continue to amaze us with stories about your VERY generous heart!  Thank you for being YOU!

Dick made no introductions last week.  Mary Jane (MJ) Stanchina introduced herself and two others who work with the programs in the Six-District Educational Compact.  It is always a treat to hear her passion for her programs, teachers and students -- the group is celebrating 50 successful years!!  Be sure to visit www.sixdistrict.com for additional information about career-technical education programs, services and resources for about 25,000 students in Stow-Munroe Falls, Cuyahoga Falls, Woodridge, Tallmadge, Hudson and Roosevelt (Kent) school districts.

Brian Bachtel explained his Business and Sports Management program.  Relationships with KSU and the University of Akron and area sports teams such as the Cavaliers, Rubber Ducks, and Indians allow for integrating worksite and facility visits.  Students usually visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame! 95% of his students continue with additional education and are very employable in their field!

Brent Dunlap told us about his classes in Marketing Management.  Marketing is significant because it can be a basis for many other careers. In their exploration of the fields of marketing, management, public relations, communications, advertising and sales, students get extensive experience in the use of the latest in technology and software. Students enrolled in this program will have the option to participate in DECA’s local, state and international competitive events to enhance the classroom curriculum.  To participate in local judging of DECA projects, contact Brent at: RooseveltDECA@gmail.com.

Each teacher stressed the importance of NETWORKING!!  The students learn valuable life lessons in these programs.  Thank you for continuing to inspire students!

Hosts --- Please invite your speakers to learn more about Rotary!  Carrie, thank YOU for keeping everyone 'in the loop'.

AMAZON SMILES is a great way to provide donations to our Club's Foundation.  Christina Gary sent an e-mail to everyone describing the process for signing up for this program. Shop at smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to our Rotary Foundation—no fees, no extra cost. Remember, this program is active at AMAZON SMILES, not the 'regular' Amazon website. The process is easy --- use your phone, computer, laptop, whatever makes you happy!  Just shop, shop, shop!  Thanks!
