Stuff the Buss a SUCCESS!!
Thank you to all of those that volunteered to help make the Stuff the Bus collaboration a success!!! All is all between supplies and donations of cash and gift cards we probably raised close to $10,000! But we are not done yet SMF Rotarians! Our next steps will be to create a place to "shop" for the teachers and purchase supplies to support it. Stay tuned! In the mean time enjoy some pictures from the weekend.

Numbers and Love are my Superpowers
There are many jobs in our club to do, but a few require extra time and effort and our Treasurer sure is one of those. Little did Annette Oborn know that when she took the job as Treasurer, it would be, well... let's say.... permanent! On top of that, Annette has one of the biggest, most caring hearts that I know. She is a wonderful Rotarian and our Club is better for having her as a part of it. THANK YOU Annette for everything you do day in and day out!!

Summit County Tourism
Our Speaker last week was Mary Tricaso, Director of Sales for the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau. Through her work with the Bureau, she inspires individuals to explore and discover the sights sounds and experiences of our area. Mary explained that the work of the Bureau is funded completely by the Summit County bed tax.  They consider themselves a liaison to all of the hotels in the area and want to enhance their visitor experience in Summit County.

Did you know that tourism-related jobs are one of every 14 jobs in the county.  All service of the Bureau are complimentary as they try to reach people in national and regional associations, sports, e-sports, multi-cultural activities, connections through hobbies, the military, weddings and other special events as well as government entities.  She explained that the Stow hotels have the unique position of offering people a good spot between Canton and Cleveland and everything in between.  She ended by suggesting we look up the Passport for Breweries on their website at visitakron-summit.org.
