Happy Bucks!

Carrie Leising shared that her daughter, Keeley, has accepted a position as boy's soccer coach at Roosevelt High School.

Marty Tass thanked Rich Bedell and the youth from the City program for weeding the Club's flower bed.  He encouraged others to do the same.

Leslee Salhany shared that she was named one of the top 20 real estate agents of Ohio!  Also, she told the group that her Dad, almost 90, still swims every day.

Highlights from last week's program:

Rich Bedell was proud to share his Happiness Moment with the members --- he was pleased to weed the already weeded Adopt-A-Spot garden plot!

Rich introduced Michael Solosky, Development Officer at Haven of Rest.  Mike is a graduate of Archbishop Hoban and The University of Akron.  His diverse business background helps him at Haven of Rest.  He thanked the club for the opportunity to speak; he also expressed gratitude for the Club's monetary donation from our Breakfast Giving Fund.

Haven of Rest was established by C.C. and Marjorie Ruth Thomas in 1943 when they welcomed homeless men into their home, housing them on cots in their basement.  The reliance on the goodwill of people for donations continues now.  Haven of Rest has a $9.6 million budget, no debt, 90+ staff members, and does not accept government funding.

The purpose of Haven of Rest is to serve and glorify God through Christ-centered, life-changing programs of love and compassion that respond to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of men, women and children without regard to their race, color, creed or social standing.

In-kind donations (food, clothing) help Haven of Rest meet the needs of poor and homeless men, women and children. Donations should be taken to Haven of Rest’s donation drive-thru at the rear of their Client Services Center at 207 East Market St. in Akron. Check the website at www.havenofrest.org.
