Brad Jagger was our Announcer last week and he did a great job! Annette lead us in singing to Marissa Williams for her birthday and we also sang to Janel! We welcomed Mike Gentithes, Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Akron as our speaker and Brad shared his Rotary why. He looks forward to getting up and sharing breakfast with like minds and going out in service with friends. Brad then tried unsuccessfully several times to pronounce our speakers last name while introducing him, but once he gave up, he shared that Mike has been published in law reviews across the country, including the Georgia Law Review, Missouri Law Review, Tennessee Law Review, Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law, Review of Banking & Financial Law, and Willamette Law Review. He makes frequent presentations to bar associations on topics in constitutional law, criminal law and appellate practice. He earned an LL.M. degree in legal theory at New York University School of Law. He earned a J.D. degree summa cum laude from DePaul University College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and managing editor of the law review. Gentithes graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University, where he studied political science and philosophy. He is an avid swimmer and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He spoke to us about some current constitutional law issues that are currently with the Supreme Court and what they mean. It was very interesting! |
